26 Bachelor Of Science And Arts Degree Teaching Courses banned by TSC

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has proclaimed that it will register teachers who train in subjects that are not in their current curriculum.

“Applicants for registration whose training is in subjects that are currently NOT in the curriculum do not qualify irrespective of having undertaken a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement,” read part of the guidelines for registration of new teachers.

“Those who have undertaken a PGDE with these courses are NOT eligible for registration as teachers. These courses do not provide sufficient subject content and therefore the mastery of the content in two teaching subjects is not adequate as required,” reads the guidelines.

However, the commission explains that those with ‘Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree, with a post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and 2 teaching subjects are qualified for registration.

TSC Hardship Areas and Allowances

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has excluded all Sub-Counties in Nyandarua County from the list of hardship regions. Other counties affected by this move are Muranga, Kandara, Kigumo, and Nyahururu Sub-Counties

The Commission has specified various areas as hardship areas. The areas listed as hardship comprise those that are in arid areas, those affected by famine and terrorism.

In the year 2012, TSC had 38 areas listed and approved as hardship areas. These areas were listed as hardship areas and teachers in these areas got monthly hardship allowances.

Hardship Allowances

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission, SRC reviewed hardship allowance in 2014 to be paid at a flat rate for all equivalent grades or job groups. The Commission abolished the pegging of the hardship allowance as a percentage of basic pay.

For teachers working in hardship areas, the above table shows a breakdown of how TSC compensates them according to their job group.

Teachers to lose hardship allowance in some sub‐counties as the commission reviews hardship areas.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) later reconsidered the list of sub‐counties that will be Referred to as Hardship areas.

Teachers who have been working in these regions have been getting incentives ﴾hardship allowances﴿ to help sustain them in those places by recompensing for lack of social amenities, infrastructure and a challenging environment.

Among the affected areas that TSC will seize to pay hardship include Nyandarua County ﴾Kinangop, Kipipiri, ol Joro Orok, Ndaragwa, Ol Kalou Sub‐Counties﴿, Kigumo Sub‐County, Murang’a Sub County, Kandara Sub‐County and Nyahururu Sub‐County.

The commission made an official statement that will see teachers working in these areas have their Salaries reduced. The salary decrease of hardship allowance in areas where it has been scraped off began on 1st December 2020.

TSC officers were dispatched to different sub‐counties to evaluate and collect data for centres to be dismissed due to development achieved in such areas over time and others to be included to enjoy the incentives because of the conditions which are likely to demotivate teachers from working in such areas.

Late last year, World Bank called for the scrapping of hardship allowances paid to the state to workers to save ksh.3 billion as part of cost‐cutting measures to return the country on track after increased spending during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The review of hardship zones is needed as several regionshave developed their infrastructure and social amenitiesover the last two decades and are no longer classifiedhardship areas,” read the World Bank report on KenyaPublic Expenditure Review.

TSC has listed some counties as hardship areas but not all schools or Sub counties are captured as hardship centres. Previous Counties listed as hardship areas by TSC were Turkana, Mandera, Samburu, Marsabit, Wajir, Lamu, Kwale, Isiolo, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Tana River, Kilifi, Narok and West Pokot.

This will hardly affect teachers who have been using hardship allowances to acquire loans.

valencia fined, granted partial stadium ban over racist abuse

  • The south stand of the Mestalla Stadium will be closed, a section to which Vinicius was seen pointing during the second half of Sunday’s game before informing the referee.
  • The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) stated that 22-year-old Vinicius will not be suspended for his dismissal in the 97th minute of the 1-0 loss.

Valencia has been punished with a partial stadium closure for five matches due to the racial abuse of Vinicius Jr., a forward for Real Madrid.

The Spanish police have detained three individuals in relation to the insult directed at the Brazilian on Sunday at Mestalla Stadium.

In addition, Valencia has been penalized 45,000 euros (£39,000).

The late red card issued to Vinicius has been revoked, indicating he will not be required to serve a suspension.

Valencia opted to partially shutter their stadium. “disproportionate, unjust and unprecedented” and stated that they intend to appeal this portion of the sanction.

“Valencia have collaborated from the first minute with the police and all relevant authorities to clarify the events that occurred,” There was a statement from the club.

“In addition, we have applied the maximum possible sanction with the ban for life from our stadium for racist behaviour of the fans identified by police.”

The south stand of the Mestalla Stadium will be closed, a section to which a visibly enraged and emotive Vinicius pointed during the second half of Sunday’s game before reporting the issue to the referee.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) also stated that Vinicius. Who was sent off in the 97th minute of the 1-0 loss, will not be suspended. And will be available for Wednesday’s match against Real Vallecano.

Following a video assistant referee (VAR) review, Vinicius was dismissed for shoving Valencia forward Hugo Duro to the ground.

The VAR did not display the on-field referee the portion of the video. In which Duro grabbed the Brazilian by the neck prior to the incident, which is also a red card offense.

The RFEF stated in a statement that Vinicius’ dismissal by the referee was a result of him being violent.

“deprived of a decisive part of the facts”, mentioning that it was “impossible for him to properly assess what happened”.

The RFEF elaborated on the partial stadium closure as follows:
“It is considered proven that, as reflected by the referee in his minutes, there were racist shouts at Vinicius, altering the normal course of the match and considering the infractions very serious.”

In the second half, the match was halted after an enraged Vinicius reported opposing spectators to the referee.

Real has submitted the abuse of Vinicius as a hate crime to the Spanish prosecutor’s office.

Tuesday saw a number of Brazilians demonstrate in front of the Spanish consulate. Isabel Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the Spanish administration, said:

“Spain is fighting this behaviour. We condemn it and we are working to eradicate it.”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said Brazilian Vinicius is “very sad.” Despite the harassment, he is overwhelmed by the support he has received and believes he will remain in Spain.

“I don’t think [he will leave Spain], because he loves football and he loves Real Madrid,”said Ancelotti.”His love for the club is very big and he wants to make his career here.”

LaLiga clubs speak out against prejudice

Multiple times this season, Vinicius has been the target of racial slurs. And following the most recent incident, he has received support from the footballing community.

In addition, the incident’s handling has been widely criticized, including by the Brazilian government.

Before Tuesday night’s matches between Real Valladolid and Barcelona. Celta Vigo and Girona, players and match officials stood in front of banners. Reading “Real Valladolid vs. Barcelona” and “Celta Vigo vs. Gir “Racism, out of football”.

When he was substituted in the second half, Barcelona winger Raphinha sent a message of support to a fellow countryman.

Additionally, the daughter of Brazilian legend Pele urged football’s governing bodies to adopt stronger anti-racism measures

.”Spain should be ashamed. La Liga should be ashamed. Real Madrid should be ashamed that they’re not putting their foot down and standing up for him,”On Instagram, Kelly Cristina Nascimento wrote.

“How much more powerful if my father’s legacy was not a stadium, but a movement, a law, a tangible action that fights racism, that makes it so a Vinicious Junior today does not have to go through what my father went through in 1958.”

La Liga has said it will request “more sanctioning powers”

So that it can punish incidents of racism, after the Spanish league’s management of the Valencia incident was widely criticized.

“belongs to racists” and “in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists”.
Tebas responded by stating that Vinicius failed to attend a meeting twice to discuss what it “can do in cases of racism”, adding:

“Before you criticise and slander La Liga, you need to inform yourself properly.”

TSC Gives Warning On 95 Deregistered Teachers – October 2021.

TSC CEO Nancy Macharia confirmed in a Gazette Notice dated Friday, October 22, that the names listed would effectively cease acting as tutors.

“In exercise of powers conferred by Section 30 of the TSC Act, the commission wishes to notify the public that the persons whose names are specified in the schedule herein below have been removed from the Register of Teachers pursuant to the provision of Section of 30(2) of the Act,” read the notice in part.

The commission ruled on the cases on September 24, 2021, according to the gazette.

The TSC boss went on to say that the only way for the 43 teachers to be reinstated is if the commission orders it.

She also warned schools, both private and public, not to hire unregistered teachers, failing which the school would be charged with an offence and fined not less than Ksh100,000 or imprisoned for a term not exceeding two years, or both.

“A teacher whose name has been removed from the register shall cease to be a teacher for purposes of this Act with effect from the date of such removal.”

“A person shall not engage in the teaching service unless such a person is registered as a teacher under this Act,” added the notice.

The TSC has been taking disciplinary action against teachers more frequently. In May 52 teachers were dismissed s for indiscipline bringing a total of 95 deregistered this year. TSC had also issued marching orders to 50 teachers in November 2020.

Cases of indiscipline on students were filed against the listed teachers, and they were issued notice letters between September 14 and 25, 2020. Similarly, in 2017 and 2018, 71 teachers were deregistered for various offences.

There is no denying that the President of the Law Society of Kenya
(LSK) Nelson Havi is one of the outspoken lawyers in the country still being in his youthful stages with unmatched eloquence and intellect.

Asking of what he scored in his KCSE during his time back in 1995, he recently visited his former high school Friends School Kamusinga Secondary School showcasing his name printed in the school’s wall of fame.

While sharing a photo of him when he visited his former school, he was pointing on his name which was marked with a clean grade A-

Last week though he had been bashed by citizens for being arrogant after he was hosted by Jeff Koinange on a panel where he kept on insisting that he should be respected and addressed as the president.

Another incident in school after a student burns dormitory

As if we have not heard enough of children, a student at Nabakholo in Kakamega County is the latest talk after setting a dorm on fire. The student claims and reasons for his actions were that the learning environment was not friendly to him and many of his fellow students speak in vernacular languages which he is not familiar with.

The headteacher also said that the student confessed to smoking marijuana but when the officers investigated the claims they did not find any evidence in the student’s belongings.

Although the dormitory in question that hosted 40 students was not burnt, only two mattresses and the belongings of the two students who slept there were destroyed.

The headteacher said that they had relocated the 40 students since they might be in fear of such incident.

They have encouraged teachers and school leaders that they should be aware of the things the students come in with at school.

No one was hurt in the incident

Residents of Kasibos village in Homa Bay County woke up to a disturbing scene of a standard 8 student who took his own life by hanging himself.

While speaking, his father said that the reason behind his son’s death might have been because he confiscated his phone to enable him to concentrate in school.

Also, the father said his phone was experiencing mechanical issues and he sort to use his son’s phone which he was to give back to him the following day after he had sorted issues with his. This though never seemed to happen

it is advisable for parents to have a sit down with their children in order to be able to understand issues that affect them directly both at home and school. this can help solve issues that can be avoided by even guardians.

The student’s body was taken to the nearby mortuary.

The deputy president William Ruto looks like each day he is planning his way up to the top seat as he is out to weaken his political rivals especially those from the other side of Uhuru and Raila.

The competitions are there, the opposing sides look to garner as many seats as they can especially in the coming by-elections in the mp polls of Kabuchai and Matungu. Ruto’s camp has managed to gain a major boost after one member defected from Raila’s side.

After ODM gave its ticket to David Were in his favour, it seems like Paul Posho was not a happy man and decided to join the DP Ruto’s side thus giving him a boost. Posho has been on the ODM side and Raila’s ally for a period where he even vied for a parliamentary position in the last general election.

Bonny Khalwale who is a major wing for the DP went on to his Twitter account saying they had got a major boost in their UDA party for their candidate Alex Lanya in Matungu Constituency after six candidates Washington Nandwele, Ernest Kongaini, Odanga Pesa, Mohammed Ibada, Dominic Shikhunyu and Paul Posho stepped down in his favour at Enjijja market. Awesome.

Very important qualification in TSC upcoming promotion

While teachers continue waiting for the just concluded TSC promotion, it is quite evident that the competition will be stiff for the few slots that are there. In most cases, it seems like most of the applicants qualify with the basic qualifications.

This time though other than the bachelor’s degree, it seems like the difference will come in the extra academic qualification of an individual teacher.

With the number of postgraduate qualifications and masters degree for teachers rising every day, it looks like this will tend to bear fruits. These individual teachers should not feel neglected for their hard work as this will tend to further separate them from the other fellows.

This is further evident as the postgraduate qualification will seem to surpass the TPAD done by the cyber attendant which can be described as a mere formality and it does not hold any strength to a teachers ability.

Why Uhuru and Raila are very likely to beat Ruto in BBI referendum

Why Uhuru and Raila are very likely to beat Ruto in BBI referendum
Why Uhuru and Raila are very likely to beat Ruto in BBI referendum

Kenya has had two constitution referendums before and speaking widely the front liners in it were Uhuru and Raila. First was the 2005 constitutional referendum in which the duo was on the same side and they managed to successfully campaign for the rejection of the constitutional changes.

In 2010 also they two were on the same side as Ruto was on the opposing side and Uhuru and Raila carried the day to the 2010 constitution promulgation. So it is fair to say the two when together have never yet lost a constitutional referendum campaign.

In this time this seems like a disadvantage to the Deputy President has not had a victory lapse in referendum campaigns as being on the opposing side with the two, President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, as the duo are pushing to popularize the BBI and have the constitution amended as the proposed referendums campaigns are underway.

It is said that Uhuru was mentored by the late president Moi thus must have gathered several tricks in the political arena and that’s why he does not seem to always be in a political war of words with his opponents. He even at a point mentioned that everything had its time so could it be that he must be applying Mois way of being patient and will react when he feels it’s the right time.

Now we will just have to continue speculating as we see how the BBI debate turns out.

On Wednesday, Education CS Prof Magoha instructed teachers to confiscate any small bottles sanitisers from children in which they will be returned on to them while leaving school.

The CS was speaking after a meeting with education stakeholders at Our Lady of Fatima Girls Secondary School in Kariobangi North saying that students were using the hand sanitisers to start school fires. He even went ahead and pointed a case in which a fire was started.

A fire at Cheborge Boys Secondary School destroyed the property of unknown value after a fire that broke out in the student’s dormitory.
Magoha said that the twin dormitory which held 300 students was destroyed on one side by the fire. The cause of the fire in the school though is yet to be established.

Earlier in the month, Magoha had stated that large quantities sanitisers will not bee allowed and teachers will only handle five litres that will be allowed in school for general school population when in public.

Woman claims of large penis saying its ‘oversize’ dominates assault case

Lucy Njeri at Makadara law courts

An assault case has caught Lucy Njeri denying claims that she had poured acid on her estranged man Geoffrey Nyebere after he found her with another man in bed. While defending herself at a court case in Makadara law courts she denied the claims saying they had already separated.

Njeri told senior principal magistrate Angelo Kithinji that she and the man had already separated and were not her husband since she could not stand his huge manhood. She had even gone ahead and warned Nyabere from coming into her house saying no woman could stand his ‘oversize’ manhood.

Njeri said that she had reported Nyabere to the Soweto police station for his continuous visit to her house saying she did not want him. The reports though seem were futile since no actions were taken as the man in question had filed counterclaims against Njeri.

In the case, the court learnt that the complainant came to her house at around 10 pm only to find her with another man. He tried to knock at the door but Njeri refused to open it and that’s when Nyabere opened the window only for him to be splashed with a corrosive substance on his face by Njeri.

Due to the commotion, the neighbours had gathered around her house as she took off with her lover as laterwards the man was rushed to the hospital for urgent treatment. She was later arrested the following day.

After pleading with the court Njeri was released on bond terms of Ksh 10,000. The hearing of the case is set to start on June 21.

Man who allegedly stole 28 million Kenyan money from Alshabaab arrested

A man identified as Lawrence Mugendi Kiragu has been in the business of luring may unsuspecting Kenyans mainly through facebook into his wash saga scam. He was arrested in Tharaka Nithi by police officers who were tipped off by members of the public.

Tharaka sub-county commander said that he had been luring many Kenyans into his schemes lying to them only later to steal millions from them.

While narrating the notorious thug recent event, the commander said that Lawrence connected with a friend on Facebook and later agreed to meet up after some days. During all this time the thug duped the innocent man that he was from Somalia and that he had stolen 28 million Kenyan money from the Alshabaab.

It is pretty much unheard of for one to even create such a rumour that they may have stolen from the terrorist group from Somalia.

He had even gone ahead to tell his victim that they were gonna use certain chemicals to bring the money back to life. The man fell into his trap and gave up his money to Lawrence amounting to millions. He went ahead and reported the matter to Chuka Police Station where the police launched a manhunt.

Incidents like such have been happening everywhere where many people have wined up losing a lot of their property which in even several cases they are not recovered as the thieves are never caught as they disappear. Others have even gone ahead to lose their houses in insincere schemes.

Others also find themselves in luring relationships where the other partner goes out of their way to steal from their partners when they even collude with others outside the relationships.

People are cautioned to be aware of such people who are trying to take over what they have worked off and should they be found in such scenarios they should raise alarms and even report the incident.

Four Masinde Muliro University campuses shut down

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has been forced to close down four of their campus branches due to financial difficulties. this is after the university board members held a meeting in December 2020 and 12,2021 of January.

The campuses shut include that of Kisumu, Kapsabet, Mumias and Nairobi leaving only three in operation which includes the main campus in Kakamega together with Bungoma and Webuye campuses.

The university has though said that it will embark on the process of reallocating its staff and lecturers in a bid of ensuring that quality education is delivered in the remaining operating branch campuses. Also, students from the closed campuses are expected to report to the main campus in Kakamega where according to their faculties they will be placed in the branches.

This move may have come after meetings held by Education Cabinet Secretary Goerge Magoha with university heads where he cited low funds claiming low funding from the national government.

Masinde Muliro main campus library

Early last year Magoha had warned universities against setting up other institution branches citing that those campuses with low student admission led to higher budgets. He told institutions that they should focus on quality education delivery rather than chasing student enrollment numbers.

Many universities in 2020 came under pressure to shut down some of their campuses with universities such as Moi announcing its intentions to shut down their Odera Akango and Kitale campuses due to lack of students.

The Commission for University Education (CUE) that was tasked by the education CS Magoha with overseeing university merges had also advised Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology JKUAT to shut down its Kakamega and Eldoret branches over education quality concerns.

Masinde Muliro university was already among universities under scrutiny from cue on the establishment of satellite campuses.

What do you think about universities decisions to shut down some of their branches?

Meet the man who is 185 years that says death has forgotten him

A man by the name Maharaniasi Murasi has lived more than anyone would imagine attaining an age of 185 years. He has lived to see his children both male and female including his grandchildren who have lived and died leaving him.

while speaking at an interview he said that he thinks death has forgotten him having lived so many years.

His neighbours did not believe that he was 185 years but he went ahead to prove them wrong while disclosing the documents that he attained from the British System, born in 1835 in the republic of Bangalore.

In the current century, it is quite unlikely to hear anyone who has attained such age since most people do not attain even the age of 150. There have been talks of healthy meals and exercise and free one from stress in order to live longer but quite unheard of like the age of Murasi.

Still though one can engage in healthy living in order to live longer. though one may never know since calamities can also end one’s life.

Gives us the power to impeach Deputy President William Ruto

ANC leaders cannot take any more of Deputy President William Ruto saying that they have had enough of his attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta saying that it would bring trouble to the country.

While speaking at ANC house, mp Ayub Savula said that they would bring an impeachment motion in the national assembly to ouster him on merits that his attacks were not good.

they even gave Ruto an opportunity for him to resign or he would face impeachment. Savula said that Ruto had been bragging about his numbers in the national assembly and it was time for him to face the motion and see who between them had numbers since impeachment is based on the majority number.

He also said that Ruto as a helper to the President was not supporting the President in his push for the big four agenda but rather was out there campaigning thus derailing various development project. Savula also said that Ruto was undermining the office of the president.

There was also debate of the 2013 candidacy where he galvanized two communities to push for his agenda but was rather reluctant to push for another community to lead after Uhuru Kenyatta mentioned that he did not mind to support any candidate from a different community in a bid to remove the notion of two communities dominating the presidency.

This though seems to be very ironic for the ANC party since it seems very impossible for them to impeach Ruto relying only on their numbers since they only have 13 members which cannot withstand for the two thirds majority.

This though is to be left for us to see how it plays out maybe they might have a plan of galvanizing other political parties and individual members who might be interest and flow in the same agenda as that of ANC political party.

Man makes his own grave and also writes his won eulogy

An elderly man Samuel Karanja who hails from Bombo village, Kiharu in Murang’a County has surprised many villagers after constructing his own grave. He has even gone further to write his own eulogy saying that those attending his funeral will be able to read.

He said writing his eulogy was the best thing for him since he was the only one who knew himself more than anyone else.

Talking about his wishes when he dies, while disclosing to Citizen Tv, he said that he would like his body to be laid on his left arm side and not the right side on the grave that he had built adjacent to his house.

revealing to the source one of his neighbour who had put a close eye on him, he revealed that Samuel while he was in his homestead he liked remaining shirtless but while going out he wore a shirt.

His wife while talking to Citizen Tv she said she was amazed by her husband’s actions and was not in support of it. She said she could not believe what her husband was doing and was even preferable if would be buried close to his house rather than where he had built his grave which is close to the fence.

“…ile mambo mzee anafanya mimi siamini….afadhali iwekwe mahali pengine hapa… kwa hivyo hiyo kukoroga siamni”

“….things that my husband has done I cannot believe…its better if it was put somewhere else like here… even so this grave building I can’t believe”

Karanja has though told Kenyans that they should also do the same and follow in his footsteps in order to avoid family unarrests which usually occur when one of the family members dies. He said that this will ease the tension that usually arises between family members.

What are your thoughts on Samuel Karanjas action to build his own grave and write his own eulogy?

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua is now at it again raging his war on media personality Felix Oduor popularly know as Jalang’o. Ezekiel while revealing to sources said he had involved lawyers to take action on Jalang,o.

This war came after the panelist hosted a couple in his show Brian and Lex Chiweru who have look alike identical features revealed that they lived in the same neighborhood and usually spent their childhood together. Brian also revealed that they realized they were biologically unrelated look alikes, referred to as doppelgangers. They however fell off with their parents when they started dating.

Brian said that the phenomenon about dopplegangers was scientifically known but it had never been proven saying it people reffered to it as a bad thing. They received attacks from angry Kenyans after a video of them surfaced online with others unpleased with their union saying it was an abomination and immoral.

Mutua also revealed that they had reported the matter to the DCI after they had seen the video. With his self proclaimed slogan moral police, he said he was going to protect the African moral fabric at all cost mentioning that some media personalities were potraying antisocial behavior.

He also went ahead and mentioned those celebrities who were looking to trend with bizarre sensansional stories at the expense of the Kenyan culture and morality while normalizing, glorifying  and glamorizing such anti social behavior during the process.

This is not the first time mutua has been cracking his whip as he even been known to be banning songs he termed immoral as they were potraying bad values to the children. Some of his memorable incidents include banning a song buy entertainment group Ethic and even at a point where he separated two lions to different parks after they were seen ‘misbehaving’.

Police officer who sneaked out a female prisoner arrested.

A police officer stationed in Shinyalu Police station in Kakamega County has surprised many after he conspired with other prisoners to commit an offence by sneaking out a female culprit.

According to sources, it is purported that the police officer took her out into his house where he forced himself on her during late night.

The female culprit in question though had reported the matter and was confessing to the situations that had happened to her with the male officer. She, however, decided to withdraw the case and forgave the officer under the condition that he should be interdicted following the massive gravity of the situation.

Disciplinary action was taken against the police officer serving as a lesson to other officers who were lawbreakers and also in a bid to clean the police service name.

This comes in a bid by many human right activists and Kenyans in a fight to solve the mud in the service where before the service has been viewed as a force where many Kenyans have suffered in the arms of various police officers. Many videos have surfaced around the media on even how the officers mishandle demonstrations where many people end up being hurt with even reports of death cases that are never solved and many others that are lost during the prosecution process.

Some also have been interdicted due to use of excessive force among innocent civilians. Others even have been seen taking bribes and harassing civilians. Others even go out of their way bragging about their positions and how untouchable they are.

All these cases illicit mixed reactions from Kenyans, the oversite board and even international bodies that keep overwatch.

This though is not to state that all of the police force is rotten as there are still officers with humanity that value their work and obey the law.

Kenyans could not spare Philip Etale after his attack on Ruto’s daughter

ODM Communication Director Philip Etale came under hot fire after his remarks about deputy president William Ruto ‘s daughter June Ruto on her appointment as ambassador.

On his official Twitter page Etale went ahead and tweeted
“DP Ruto’s daughter June was appointed Ambassador immediately after graduating from University. She is lucky to have been born in a rich family. What about her classmates who are still tarmacking because they were born in less fortunate families! Then you want to say Kazi ni Kazi!”

This probably came up with talks of a dynasty in the political arena where it has been said only two families in Kenya are the only ones dominating including that of President Kenyatta the Kenyata family and the Odinga family which is that of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Etale went on to rubbish Ruto’s slogan where he had helped popularize the notion dynasty saying he also was not any different from the other political figures since he was using his influence to secure his daughter a job way faster than others of the same knowledge.

Kenyans though who were in support of June did not take it easy on Etale with others saying that his statements were political since he had not even mentioned Railas daughter who may have benefitted from the ‘Odinga,s name’.

One went ahead to even tell that was he in the same position he would have taken advantage and probably his relatives or friends would take such a position.

The dynasty war has been coming over the recent past times where Kenyans were even expressing concerns saying that they would have preferred if any other people would lead the country in a better way.

Even though at a recent burial President Uhuru Kenyatta had gone ahead and rubbished those claims and cautioned those who were spreading propaganda.

After betting firm SportPesa resumed its work 3 months ago its mid-week jackpot has crowned one gambler a millionaire after he has worn sh 12,444,454. The 45-year-old Mutuku Muoka who hails from Embakasi, Nairobi deals in car spare parts and he could not believe himself after receiving the call from the betting firm.

Mutuku recounted that it was impossible for him to sleep after he got the message in the middle from the Sportpesa customer care revealing to him that he had won the mid-week jackpot after predicting the 13 games correctly.

The Chelsea fan locally supports 18 times Kenya premier league champions Gor Mahia but admitted to having been a follower of Tusker FC.

He is not the first millionaire though to be named after a while back in May 2017 Samuel Abisai walked away with a whopping 221 million on Sportpesa’s mega jackpot. There have also been more winners in between the time as the gambling fraternity was being popularized among Kenyans.

The betting firm in Kenya did not have it easy as the government was cracking down on them with interior cabinet cs Fred Matiangi leading. Some of them were found culpable of tax evasion and also faced charges. Such companies like Sportpesa were affected by the move which made them close shop coming as a blow to many of their customers.

However, there has been a rise of other betting firms after the closure of others.

Matiangi said that the firms were robbing Kenyans especially the youth of their hard-earned income and that also it had rendered some jobless after spending their incomes in betting. He also stated that others had become lazy due to their reliance on gambling.

The firms though have been involved in supporting Kenyan leagues and even the sports fraternity wholly by going ahead to sponsor even local teams.

ODM keen not to loose Matungu by-election

After a painful defeat in Msambweni by-election former prime ministers, Raila Odinga’s, ODM party has gone on to reinvent itself as they will not be doing crowd rallies rather they will be campaigning on the door to door basis in the villages in the slated 4th March Matungu by-election in western Kenya region following Justus Murunga demise.

Former Matungu mp David Were will be flying the party’s flag in the by-election where he is seen as a strong candidate in the contest to become victorious.

ODM party has decided that it will not fill a candidate in the vacant Kabuchai region as a way to focus its goal in Matungu. This also follows in the Nairobi gubernatorial by-election where they withdrew their guns as they will be backing up a jubilee candidate.

Wetangula and Musalia

Also what comes as a strategy is a working environment for Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party and Moses Wetangula Ford Kenya who are in a deal to ensure that Raila and deputy president William Ruto do not capture any of the seats in the Western Kenya region.

ANC who had the Matungu seat before is focused on retaining it settling on their candidate Peter Nabudilo as they won’t fill a candidate in Kabuchai where Ford Kenya has their eyes focused.

ODM has fronted Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya who is also the party deputy to lead Were’s campaign on their door to door mission putting a keen on the governor’s influence in the region. Were who was Matungu mp before being thrashed in 2017 by the late ANC candidate had vied on Jubilee ticket after his fallout with Raila’s party.

This will be a keen contest which will test whether ODM’s popularity is still in the region or was fading away.

ODM is also focused on capturing Kiamokama, London and Huruma wards which are vacant.

Kenyan bull sold for ksh12 million

A Boran bull dubbed QT 12-3 TARZAN with a combination of Zambian and Kenyan genetics has set a new record after being bid for a whopping record of 12 million Kenyan shillings at the national Boran sale. The price is one of a kind of its breed making a new record in South Africa surpassing previous records.

First lady Margaret Kenyatta, at a Nairobi International trade fair, acquired a champion bull from Kenya Seed Company aged 2years for Ksh 670,000 weighing 650kgs where president Uhuru Kenyatta also acquired a born bull weighing 560kgs for ksh380,000. Others bulls that had previously been acquired had prices of Ksh 280,000, ksh 600,000 weighing 1050kg, Ksh 750,000 and another that Kenyatta captured headlines in 2015 when he acquired a Boran bull for ksh1.1 million in a bid. He had also beaten former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero in the bid where he (Kidero) also acquired himself one priced at Ksh 950,000 for second place. The president though went ahead to donate the bull to the Nairobi area police which was named ‘The Champion’.

Its is seen like professional breeders make a huge amount of money where even semen from highly ranked Boran bulls go up to Ksh 1,500.

Boran bulls are massive in size and can weigh from 600-800 kg but the usual size is weighed at 400kg. They have a long life span and have the ability to withstand long periods of water shortages and feeds, walk for long distance in search of pasture and water and can also diest low quality feeds.

Also, a company in Eldoret has introduced a new breed called Danshot from the Netherlands with sexed semen and can sire a heifer with which can yield up to 57 litres of milk at the second period of lactation. It also has a high growth rate being ready to serve at 15 to 16 months.

Mysterious Illness Spreads in Kenya’s Kisii County as Officials Probe Water Sources.

Authorities in Kisii County have ramped up efforts to identify and contain a mysterious illness as more individuals continue to fall ill. The number of hospitalized patients has risen by at least 20, compelling health officials to scrutinize village water sources as a possible cause. The health ministry has launched investigations in an attempt to curb the outbreak.

Now in its third week, the illness continues to afflict residents, including a mother and her three-year-old child who are suffering from severe headaches, fatigue, stomach pains, and diarrhea. In another instance, a young woman endures intense pain, experiencing bloody diarrhea and a dangerously high fever.

Health facilities in the region remain overwhelmed as medical personnel work urgently to determine the source of the disease. Kennedy Omari, the County Health Promotion Officer, confirmed that 20 additional patients have been transferred to various hospitals for treatment.

“We have been moving around, and so far, we have rushed 20 more people to various hospitals,” said Kennedy Omari, the County Health Promotion Officer.

Some patients have been undergoing treatment for several days. John Obara, a 60-year-old resident, expressed relief as he began to recover after three days of medical care. He emphasized the urgency of government intervention, urging authorities to act promptly in addressing such crises.

Residents of the affected villages are growing increasingly anxious, demanding that investigations be expedited. Eunice Ombasa, from South Mugirango, expressed disbelief that contaminated water could be the cause, stating that despite frequent hospital visits, the root of the ailment remains unclear.

Robert Masese, a resident of Nyabigege, echoed these concerns, stressing that while health officials had visited, the community’s primary concern was the swift completion of investigations to determine the illness’s origin.

“I still can’t believe it’s our water causing this. We keep going to the hospital, but no one knows what is afflicting us,” said Eunice Ombasa, a resident of South Mugirango.

In response, health officials have intensified efforts to uncover the cause of the outbreak. A team from the Ministry of Health headquarters in Nairobi has joined Kisii County counterparts on a fact-finding mission in Amarongo, one of the affected villages. Their primary focus remains on examining local water sources for potential contamination.

Dr. Richard Onkware, Kisii County’s Chief Health Officer, stated that investigations are ongoing in collaboration with experts from Nairobi. He added that findings from the government chemist are expected the following day, which could provide crucial insights into the illness’s cause.

As residents await answers, health authorities continue their efforts to contain the outbreak and prevent further spread.

Fabrizio Romano Reveals Real Madrid’s Plan to Steal Saliba, But Arsenal Has a Secret Weapon.

Arsenal defender William Saliba has been attracting attention from La Liga giants Real Madrid, with reports linking him to a potential move.

The Spanish club is eager to strengthen its defence following persistent injury issues among its backline. Reports from Spain in January suggested that Real Madrid is prepared to spend significantly to secure the services of the French international.

Saliba began his professional career at St Etienne, making his senior debut for the Ligue 1 club in 2018. Recognizing his talent early, Arsenal swiftly secured his signature in a £27 million deal the following year. Following a loan spell back at his former club, he returned to North London and established himself as a crucial figure in Arsenal’s central defence.

Since his integration into the first team, Saliba has developed a strong defensive partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes. Their solid performances have played a key role in Arsenal’s recent Premier League title pursuits. His presence at the heart of Mikel Arteta’s defence has made him indispensable to the team’s ambitions.

Transfer Speculation and Current Status

Despite the ongoing speculation, any move to Real Madrid appears distant. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided insight into the situation, stating that while Madrid admires Saliba, no formal discussions or negotiations have taken place.

He emphasized that the French defender remains a vital component of Arsenal’s squad and that there is currently nothing beyond Madrid’s appreciation of his talent.

According to reports from The Mirror, Arsenal is eager to secure Saliba’s long-term future at the club. Negotiations are underway for a new contract that would see his wages rise substantially.

At present, he earns £190,000 per week, making him the seventh highest-paid player at the club, with an annual salary of £9.8 million. If the new contract is finalized, his earnings could increase to £250,000 per week, raising his annual salary to £13 million.

Chelsea, one of the Premier League’s elite clubs, continues its quest for its first major trophy under the ownership of Todd Boehly. Despite early eliminations from both the League Cup and FA Cup, the Blues remain strong contenders for the UEFA Conference League title, having secured victories in all six of their league-phase matches in dominant fashion.

Having already claimed Champions League and Europa League titles in past campaigns, Chelsea now seeks to make history as the first club to conquer all three European competitions. Their focus is now set on an enticing round-of-16 clash against Danish Superliga leaders FC Copenhagen.

With a squad brimming with talent, Enzo Maresca’s side is well-prepared for the upcoming challenge but remains cautious about Copenhagen’s threat, especially after their impressive performances against Manchester United in the Champions League last season.

Ahead of this pivotal European encounter, we assess Chelsea’s latest injury concerns and expected return dates.

Defensive Injury Concerns

Trevoh Chalobah – Doubtful

Chalobah has become an increasingly vital figure in Chelsea’s defensive setup under Maresca. Initially considered surplus to requirements, the academy graduate has delivered solid performances since returning from his loan at Crystal Palace. However, he missed the recent victory over Southampton due to a lower back issue. Maresca indicated that Chalobah could be sidelined for 7 to 10 days, making his availability for the Copenhagen trip uncertain. Expected return date: 06/03/2025

Benoit Badiashile – Out

French center-back Badiashile remains unavailable due to a thigh problem. However, he is expected to be fit in time for Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Leicester City. Expected return date: 09/03/2025

Wesley Fofana – Possible Return

Former Leicester City defender Fofana has resumed training following a thigh injury. Maresca has urged caution regarding his return, suggesting that the club will carefully evaluate whether he should be risked against Copenhagen. Expected return date: 09/03/2025

Midfield and Attacking Injury Setbacks

Romeo Lavia – Out

The ex-Southampton youngster has yet to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge due to recurring injuries. He is currently targeting an April return after sustaining a thigh injury. Expected return date: 02/04/2025

Noni Madueke – Out

Madueke’s promising start to the season has been hindered by injury troubles. Maresca previously revealed that the England international is dealing with a hamstring problem and will remain sidelined for the time being. Expected return date: 02/04/2025

Chelsea’s primary striker, Jackson, is suffering from a thigh injury and remains weeks away from making his comeback. Maresca confirmed that Jackson will not be available until after the international break. Expected return date: 02/04/2025

Marc Guiu – Out

The young Spanish forward has also sustained a thigh injury, ruling him out of action until April. Expected return date: 02/04/2025

Tottenham Opt Against Permanent Deal for Timo Werner.

Tottenham have opted not to make Timo Werner’s loan move permanent, despite having an £8.5 million purchase option for the summer. The German forward, who initially joined Spurs on a six-month loan from RB Leipzig in January 2024 before extending for another season, has failed to impress, scoring just once in 27 appearances throughout the campaign.

Werner’s return from a hamstring injury, suffered during the FA Cup third-round victory against Tamworth in January, saw him feature in Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night. However, regardless of the season’s conclusion, sources close to him anticipate a return to Leipzig in the summer, where he will assess his future options.

Interest from MLS and Spurs’ Future Plans

There is some interest from Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls, but any potential move would depend on Werner’s financial expectations and whether he is prepared to leave European football at 28. Meanwhile, manager Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham board are looking for fresh attacking options for next season, with Werner not included in their long-term vision.

His exclusion from last weekend’s squad in the 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town, despite recovering from injury, highlighted the intense competition for attacking roles at the club.

Disappointment and Past Performance Issues

A disappointing performance in December’s Europa League 1-1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox had been criticized by Postecoglou, who deemed it unacceptable, particularly given the club’s injury crisis at the time. From that moment, the likelihood of Spurs activating their purchase clause for Werner significantly diminished.

Postecoglou has already signaled his expectation that Mathys Tel will remain at Tottenham beyond the summer, following his loan from Bayern Munich. Spurs hold a £45.8 million buy option for Tel, which could rise to £50 million with bonuses. The Frenchman’s adaptability, allowing him to operate both centrally and on the wings, makes him a valuable asset for the team.

Squad Evaluation and Potential Transfers

The club will reassess Richarlison’s future at the end of the season, as another injury-plagued year raises questions over his long-term role. Additionally, changes in midfield could be expected during the transfer window, while defensive reinforcements may also be pursued as Spurs refine their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Having remained inactive during the last winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are now prioritizing reinforcements for the summer, with particular attention on strengthening their flanks.

The Blaugrana are specifically in pursuit of a left-winger and two full-backs, aiming to enhance both their attacking and defensive capabilities. However, securing these reinforcements will require significant financial resources.

To fund these acquisitions, Barcelona must generate substantial revenue. While offloading fringe players is one possibility, another avenue lies in capitalizing on the sale of former players on whom the club still holds financial rights.

One such player who appears poised for a summer move is Francisco Trincão, who has been thriving at Sporting CP. His remarkable form has reignited interest in him, particularly from two Premier League clubs, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

The Portuguese winger, now 25 years old, has enjoyed a standout season, registering 9 goals and 13 assists in 40 appearances. This marks a stark contrast to his struggles at Camp Nou, presenting Barcelona with a financial opportunity due to a well-negotiated sell-on clause from his 2023 departure.

Trincão’s journey has been one of transformation since departing Barcelona. The Catalan club initially signed him from Sporting Braga in 2020 for €31 million, but he failed to make an impact, scoring only three goals in 42 appearances before enduring an underwhelming loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In 2022, Sporting CP first acquired him on loan for €3 million before making the move permanent a year later for €7 million. This investment has since paid off, with Trincão emerging as a key figure in Sporting’s squad and one of the standout performers in the Primeira Liga.

Barcelona’s Financial Stake in Trincão’s Future

Although Barcelona are no longer in contention for his return, they stand to benefit financially. The club retained a 50% sell-on clause on any future profit from his transfer to Sporting CP.

With his contract running until 2026 and a release clause set at €80 million, a high-value transfer could yield Barcelona a significant sum without any direct involvement. Meanwhile, Sporting CP have begun discussions to extend his contract, aiming to deter potential suitors and further boost his market value.

Interest in Trincão has intensified in England, particularly in Manchester. Reports from A Bola indicate that Manchester United’s head coach, Rúbén Amorim, and Manchester City’s Sporting Director, Hugo Viana, are closely monitoring his progress.

Trincão has been one of Sporting CP’s most reliable players this season, accumulating 3,468 minutes across 40 matches. His consistent contributions have not gone unnoticed, making him an attractive prospect for Premier League clubs.

For Barcelona, Trincão’s resurgence evokes mixed feelings. The decision to sell him for just €7 million in 2022 raised questions at the time. However, the inclusion of a sell-on clause ensures the club remains financially involved.

If Sporting CP were to sell Trincão for €60 million, Barcelona would receive €26.5 million—half of the €53 million profit Sporting would make over their initial expenditure. Should his value approach his release clause, the financial benefit for Barcelona would be even greater. Given the club’s ongoing financial challenges, this unexpected revenue stream could prove invaluable.

Mohamed Salah’s Record-Breaking Season with Liverpool.

Since arriving at Liverpool in 2017, Mohamed Salah has been enjoying one of his finest campaigns. The Egyptian forward has been instrumental in the Reds’ pursuit of a second Premier League title and their 20th top-flight triumph, while also aiming for success in the Champions League.

His outstanding form has seen him net 30 goals in all competitions, with 25 of those coming in the Premier League. As a result, Liverpool has established a commanding 13-point lead at the top of the league table, with Arsenal trailing in second place with a game in hand.

Breaking Records at an Unprecedented Rate

This season has the potential to be one of Liverpool’s most memorable, and Salah has played a pivotal role in their success. He has already set numerous records, cementing his place among football’s elite.

During Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City, Salah shattered six records in a single match. At the Etihad Stadium, he opened the scoring and later assisted Dominik Szoboszlai’s goal, further solidifying his impact on the game.

Following that match, he became the first player in Premier League history to be involved in over 40 goals in two separate seasons (2017/18 and 2024/25). His tally currently stands at 42, having added another assist in Liverpool’s recent 2-0 victory against Newcastle United.

A Trailblazer in Premier League History

Salah also became the first Premier League player to reach 25 goals and 15 assists in a single season. With 10 matches still to be played, he has already amassed 25 goals and 17 assists, further establishing his dominance in England’s top flight.

On a club level, Salah now holds the record for the most assists in a single Premier League season for Liverpool. He achieved this milestone against Manchester City and extended it further with an assist in the win over Newcastle.

Additionally, the match against City saw him become the first player to score and assist in both Premier League encounters against the reigning champions. Furthermore, he became the first player since Lionel Messi in the 2014/15 season to register a goal and an assist in 11 different league matches across Europe’s top five leagues.

Setting the Standard Across Europe

One more milestone Salah reached was becoming the first player this season to contribute to 50 goals across all competitions within Europe’s top five leagues. With his performances against City and Newcastle, he has increased that tally to 52, with an opportunity to add more when Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Record That Slipped Away

Earlier in the season, Salah had a chance to claim another Premier League record. During a remarkable goal-scoring run, he found the net in seven consecutive league games between November and December.

However, he fell short of surpassing the record for most consecutive matches scored in, which remains 11, set by Jamie Vardy for Leicester City between August and November 2015. After failing to score in a 2-2 draw against Fulham in December, Salah resumed his scoring streak in Liverpool’s subsequent four league fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester, West Ham, and Manchester United.

Fulham and Sporting CP are vying for the signature of Panathinaikos and Greece defender Georgios Vagiannidis, as per sources at Football Insider. Fulham had actively sought a right-back in the January transfer window and remain determined to secure one in the summer, with the 23-year-old featuring prominently on their list of targets.

A number of clubs, including Ajax, Zenit, and Botafogo, submitted bids for Vagiannidis in January. However, the player opted to remain at Panathinaikos instead of making a mid-season move.

Sporting CP is eager to gain an advantage in the summer window and is preparing to table an offer close to €10 million for the full-back. Meanwhile, Fulham remains a strong contender for Vagiannidis’ signature and is expected to make an official approach during the off-season.

The Greek defender progressed through Panathinaikos’ youth system before securing a move to Inter Milan in the summer of 2020. However, he returned to Panathinaikos a year later, where he has since established himself as a key player.

Impressive Performances on the European Stage

This season, Vagiannidis has featured in 30 matches across all competitions, starting in 24 of them and contributing two goals. His performances have not been limited to domestic competition, as he has also played for Panathinaikos in both Europa League qualifiers and the UEFA Conference League.

The right-back made his senior debut for Greece in September 2024 and has since earned three international caps.

Fulham currently have right-backs Timothy Castagne and Kenny Tete in their squad at Craven Cottage. However, Tete’s contract is set to expire in June, which has heightened the club’s need for reinforcement in that position.

Marco Silva’s squad has made significant progress toward securing their first-ever major trophy. On Sunday (2 March), Fulham defeated Manchester United in a penalty shootout in the FA Cup fifth round.

Following the defeat, reports from Football Insider indicate that Manchester United supporters are beginning to lose faith in manager Ruben Amorim. Fulham’s next challenge in the tournament will be against Crystal Palace on 29 March, with a semi-final place at Wembley at stake.

Among the remaining teams in the FA Cup are Brighton, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth. In the Premier League, Fulham currently occupy the ninth position as they prepare for their upcoming fixture against Brighton.

Portsmouth Weigh Transfer Options Amid Defensive Injury Crisis Before Leeds Clash.

Portsmouth are considering entering the free-agent market to reinforce their defense, which has been significantly weakened by injuries. Currently sitting 17th in the Championship, Pompey face a tough challenge on Sunday when they host league leaders Leeds United at Fratton Park.

However, defensive options are severely limited, with Hayden Matthews sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury, while Rob Atkinson is expected to be out for up to eight weeks with a calf problem.

The squad is further depleted as former Leeds defender Conor Shaughnessy (hamstring) and Ibane Bowat remain long-term absentees. This situation leaves John Mousinho with just Regan Poole and Ryley Towler as the only fully fit specialist central defenders.

Assessing the Free-Agent Market

Mousinho acknowledged that his team is open to exploring free-agent options but pointed out the challenges of doing so at this stage of the season. He explained that signing a player now is complicated because free agents often require three to four weeks to regain match fitness, typically due to recent injuries or release from previous clubs. He emphasized the difficulty of making the right acquisition in such a market.

Pompey began their campaign with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Leeds United but recently saw their three-game winning streak halted by a narrow defeat at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town. Mousinho reflected on the match, expressing disappointment over his team’s performance.

He stated that fundamental mistakes cost them the game, pointing out that within five minutes, one of their central midfielders had already received a booking for an unnecessary challenge. He observed that the team repeatedly conceded free kicks, entirely deviating from their initial game plan.

Mousinho was particularly frustrated with the team’s attitude, admitting that while their second-half performance improved, it was too late to salvage the game. He asserted that Portsmouth were not dismantled by an exceptional opponent but instead made poor decisions, ultimately leading to conceding a goal from their own free-kick.

With a crucial fixture against Leeds approaching, Portsmouth now face the challenge of strengthening their depleted defensive line, while also addressing the inconsistency that plagued their recent performance.

Pep, Klopp, and Slot Battle for £80m Playmaker—Man Utd Losing Out!

Manchester United are currently in a difficult position both financially and from a sporting perspective, with their project seemingly at a standstill. Years of poor financial management, overspending on players, and inconsistent managerial appointments without a clear long-term strategy have led to the club’s current predicament.

New manager Ruben Amorim is now tasked with steadying the ship, but the challenges ahead are substantial.

The upcoming summer transfer window is crucial, not just for Amorim but for the club as a whole. Without European football, potentially, attracting top talent will be an uphill battle. The Red Devils must make astute transfer decisions to rebuild effectively, but their financial constraints may hinder their ability to sign high-profile players.

Liverpool Leading Race for Xavi Simons

According to today’s edition of The Daily Star, Manchester United have suffered a significant setback in their pursuit of Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. Although United recently held exploratory talks regarding a potential move, Liverpool are now leading the race to secure his signature.

Liverpool’s advantage stems from their ongoing historic season under new manager Arne Slot. The Dutch coach has a strong connection to Simons and could persuade him to join his project at Anfield, potentially as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, should the Egyptian forward depart. The presence of former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at Red Bull also strengthens their position in the race.

Competition and Transfer Valuation

Manchester City have also shown interest in the highly-rated playmaker, with Pep Guardiola reportedly an admirer of his talents. Simons has been outstanding over the past few seasons with RB Leipzig. Until recently, he was still a PSG player before the German club secured his services permanently for £50m. Now, Leipzig are open to selling him for around £80m if a top club comes forward with an offer this summer.

Man Utd’s Transfer Dilemma

Despite Simons’ availability, Manchester United may struggle to afford such an expensive acquisition. With multiple areas of the squad needing reinforcement, spending heavily on a single player seems impractical given their current financial situation.

Furthermore, Simons is likely to prioritize a move to a club regularly competing in the Champions League. Given their circumstances, United may be better off targeting more affordable options to aid in their long-term rebuild at Old Trafford.

Fans OUTRAGED as Salah Misses Ballon d’Or Shortlist—These 5 Players Made It Instead!

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been in such phenomenal form during the 2024-25 season that it remains baffling how he was omitted from the Ballon d’Or’s 30-man shortlist last year. As the leading candidate for this year’s award, he has delivered staggering numbers in Liverpool’s title pursuit.

Following a relatively underwhelming 2023-24 season, where he struggled with form after sustaining a hamstring injury at the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah’s resurgence has silenced any doubts. Even at a lower level than his usual best, he still managed an impressive tally of 25 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, contributing to Liverpool’s League Cup victory and a comfortable return to the Champions League during Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign.

Yet, despite his notable achievements, five players surprisingly made the Ballon d’Or shortlist ahead of him.

Martin Odegaard

Arsenal concluded 2024 without any major silverware, excluding the Community Shield, and yet had four players on the Ballon d’Or shortlist. While Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka were undeniable choices due to their pivotal roles in England’s run to the Euros final, and William Saliba was a defensive rock in Didier Deschamps’ France side that reached the semifinals, Odegaard’s inclusion raised eyebrows.

Even though the Norwegian midfielder played an essential role in Arsenal’s title push, his impact in the Premier League was not significantly greater than Salah’s. Both recorded 10 assists, but Salah’s goal contributions were notably higher. Moreover, Norway’s failure to qualify for Euro 2024 further weakened the case for his nomination over Salah.

Ruben Dias

Another surprising inclusion was Ruben Dias. While the Portuguese defender enjoyed a solid 2023-24 season and secured a fourth successive Premier League title with Manchester City, his nomination felt automatic rather than deserved.

Arsenal had a stronger defensive record, conceding fewer goals and keeping more clean sheets, while Dias struggled in the Champions League, conceding four goals—including an own goal—over two legs against Real Madrid. Given that City already had Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and eventual winner Rodri on the shortlist, Dias’ presence appeared excessive.

Ademola Lookman

One of the most unexpected names was Ademola Lookman. His unforgettable hat-trick in the Europa League final denied Bayer Leverkusen a historic treble, making him the first player since Jupp Heynckes in 1975 to achieve such a feat in a European final.

Atalanta’s triumph was monumental, as the Italian club had not secured silverware since 1963. Additionally, Lookman had played a significant role in Nigeria’s journey to the AFCON final earlier in the year. However, despite his heroics, his overall season statistics did not compare to Salah’s sustained excellence at the highest level.

Salah’s absence from the Ballon d’Or shortlist remains a puzzling omission, especially considering the players who were chosen ahead of him. With his stunning return to form in 2024-25, he appears determined to ensure such a snub never happens again.
