Man makes his own grave and also writes his won eulogy

An elderly man Samuel Karanja who hails from Bombo village, Kiharu in Murang’a County has surprised many villagers after constructing his own grave. He has even gone further to write his own eulogy saying that those attending his funeral will be able to read.

He said writing his eulogy was the best thing for him since he was the only one who knew himself more than anyone else.

Talking about his wishes when he dies, while disclosing to Citizen Tv, he said that he would like his body to be laid on his left arm side and not the right side on the grave that he had built adjacent to his house.

revealing to the source one of his neighbour who had put a close eye on him, he revealed that Samuel while he was in his homestead he liked remaining shirtless but while going out he wore a shirt.

His wife while talking to Citizen Tv she said she was amazed by her husband’s actions and was not in support of it. She said she could not believe what her husband was doing and was even preferable if would be buried close to his house rather than where he had built his grave which is close to the fence.

“…ile mambo mzee anafanya mimi siamini….afadhali iwekwe mahali pengine hapa… kwa hivyo hiyo kukoroga siamni”

“….things that my husband has done I cannot believe…its better if it was put somewhere else like here… even so this grave building I can’t believe”

Karanja has though told Kenyans that they should also do the same and follow in his footsteps in order to avoid family unarrests which usually occur when one of the family members dies. He said that this will ease the tension that usually arises between family members.

What are your thoughts on Samuel Karanjas action to build his own grave and write his own eulogy?
