Moments from Liverpool’s 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich that you may have missed

Bayern Munich defeated Liverpool 4-3 to conclude Liverpool’s preseason tour of Singapore on Wednesday afternoon.

Although Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk scored early goals, the Bundesliga champions responded with goals from Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane.

Shortly after the hour mark, the Reds regained the lead through Luis Diaz, who began and completed a fine attacking move by sweeping the ball past Yann Sommer.

Frans Kratzig and Josip Stanisic scored late goals to give Thomas Tuchel’s team an impressive victory at the Singapore National Stadium.

Here are some moments that you may have missed.

Who is Domonic?

It’s safe to assume that the tens of thousands of Liverpool fans who attended Wednesday’s match in Singapore were eager to catch a glimpse of summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai, who arrived from RB Leipzig in a £60 million deal earlier this month.

The kit specialists who outfitted Jurgen Klopp’s team for Wednesday’s seven-goal thriller were obviously unprepared for the Hungarian international’s appearance, however. This was due to the reality that Szoboszlai’s name was spelled Szosbozlai.

Plenty of time for practice, gentlemen.

Cards galore

At Wednesday’s game in Singapore, Ian Doyle of the ECHO observed that one’referee’ in the stands of the Singapore National Stadium was eager to brandish his cards.

Nonetheless, he appeared to be enjoying himself, and it was by no means the most dubious officiating decision during the 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich!

Rocking everywhere in the globe

Even for a club of Liverpool’s stature, the reception Jurgen Klopp’s squad received during their six-day stay in Singapore for both games and open training sessions was nothing short of phenomenal.

Kopites from Singapore and the surrounding regions flocked to the National Stadium to demonstrate their support for the Reds, despite the high ticket prices. In doing so, they considerably outnumbered their counterparts from Bayern Munich and Leicester City.

Moments after the final whistle blew in Wednesday’s seven-goal thriller, the PA system began playing You’ll Never Walk Out while Jurgen Klopp and members of the playing squad struggled to hear the LFCTV correspondent asking questions.

In fact, the Liverpool manager had to repeat some queries due to the deafening volume of the tens of thousands of Reds fans who participated in the rendition of the famous anthem.

Excellent assistance as always, Reds!

Seven to the top

One fan inside the Singapore National Stadium was eager to make light of Manchester United’s 7-0 loss to Liverpool earlier this season.

Obviously, no Liverpool supporter will ever forget this afternoon. This fan in Asia was quick to flaunt the memento he cherished from the occasion, as he sported a ‘LFC 7-0 MU’ print on the back of the new 2023/24 kit.
