KCSE exam invigilator has been arrested in Migory County for sneaking exam questions to candidates ahead of the scheduled time. According to the Education CS George Magoha, the invigilator is in police custody and will be arraigned in court to face criminal charges.
“In the meantime, the police are stepping up their investigations to trace the chain of people that are connected to this ring. They will be found wherever they may be in any part of the country or elsewhere and face the law,” He said.
He stated the Government’s security system will catch up with such unscrupulous people who believe they can breach the watertight security measures.
“We wish to inform the country that we unearthed a case of an early exposure of some papers during this examination. Under these circumstances, unprofessional examination officials manage to expose the examinations a little earlier than the scheduled time once the papers leave safely from the examination container. The questions are then shared to the targeted candidates just before the examinations start,” Magoha said.
The CS however assured candidates and Kenyans that all exam materials are secure and that no candidate will be allowed to have an unfair advantage in the ongoing KCSE exams.
“We will ensure all candidates continue accessing the examination questions at the same time when the papers are scheduled to be taken,” He said.
Magoha said the Multi-Agency Examinations Monitoring Team is pleased with the advancement of the KCSE adding that all the 752,891 registered candidates have sat for six examination papers, including several candidates that are taking their examinations in hospitals.
“We also ask for the support of all stakeholders and examination monitors who are spread out in all parts of the country to report any cases of malpractices to the Kenya National Examinations Council immediately they spot them. The Toll-Free Numbers are 0800-724-900 and 0800-721410,” The CS said.
