How to Apply for TSC Transfer Online; Procedure

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya has taken substantial steps in digitizing its services to improve efficiency and convenience for teachers nationwide.

One noteworthy digital advancement introduced in February 2021 is the Online Teacher Transfer Application process. The Appointment Board typically reviews transfer requests at the end of each year. However, the Commission retains the discretion to transfer teachers based on certain criteria.

To be considered for a transfer, a teacher must complete a transfer application through their institution’s head, which can be obtained from TSC offices or the website. The head of the institution must then submit the completed application forms to TSC or its agents. Transfers of primary school teachers within a county are managed by the TSC County Director, while those outside the county are handled by TSC headquarters, including transfers to tertiary institutions.

Requests for transfers are acknowledged promptly, and decisions from the Appointment Board are communicated to teachers in due course. Transfers are subject to vacancy availability and replacements.

This article serves as a comprehensive guide for teachers on navigating the TSC online portal and understanding the transfer application process.
