TSC Updated Salary For Promoted Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to revamp its salary structures, bringing positive news for senior teachers in public primary and secondary schools. The TSC’s CEO has stressed the importance of fairly compensating experienced educators and indicated that significant salary increases are on the horizon.

A notable example includes senior teachers in grade C5 primary schools, who are expected to see a significant rise in their monthly earnings, with salaries increasing from 47,896 shillings to an impressive 64,631 shillings, representing a substantial increase of 17,000 shillings. Similarly, secondary school teachers can anticipate a substantial wage hike, with the potential for their monthly salaries to increase to 157,656 shillings, up from the current 115,163 shillings.

TSC Updated Salary For Promoted Teachers

The CEO mentioned that if the proposed salary revision is approved, it will lead to salary increases for all teachers, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the years 2021 to 2025. The adjusted TSC teacher salary structure according to the CBA 2021-2025 is categorized as follows:

1. Principals (T-SCALE 15): Principals overseeing district and national schools with over 1,000 students will have their salaries adjusted, ranging from 131,380 shillings to 157,656 shillings.

2. Senior Teachers (T Scale 14): Educators managing over 540 students in district schools will have fixed monthly salaries of 118,242 and 121,890 shillings respectively.

3. Principals (TSC 13): Principals of sub-district schools will also witness changes in their salaries, with the lowest paid earning 104,644 shillings and the highest paid receiving 106,812 shillings.

4. Deputy Principal III: Administrating full-time schools and sub-district schools, these administrators will undergo a salary review, with the lowest salary set at 91,041 shillings.

5. Deputy Principal IV, Principal, and Master II: Principals of class D1 (T scale 11) oversee elementary schools with more than 1,000 students, while the master of secondary school class D1 (T Scale 11) supervises schools in the district with over 540 students.

6. Senior Master III, Deputy Headteacher I, and Headteacher: Administrators at grade C5 (T Scale 10) are responsible for elementary schools with student populations below 1,000.

This updated salary scale aligns with the provisions outlined in the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement for TSC teachers, promising significant compensation increases and positive prospects for senior educators across the board.
