TSC Advertises 328 Internship Positions, Application Procedure and Requirements

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is currently accepting applications for 328 internship positions in Junior Secondary schools. Those interested and qualified should submit their applications online through either the Commission’s official website at www.tsc.go.ke under the “Careers” section or at teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

i) Must be a Kenyan citizen.

ii) Should possess a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ and C+ in two teaching subjects in KCSE or an equivalent qualification.

iii) Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

General Information

i) Manual applications will not be considered.

ii) The Commission’s Recruitment Guidelines for the 2022/2023 Financial Year for Post Primary Institutions will be applied.

iii) Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide original academic and professional certificates.

iv) Selection will be merit-based, considering the number of vacancies available per County.

v) Former permanent and pensionable TSC employees and those who have participated in the TSC internship program are not eligible.

vi) Applicants can apply to two schools with suitable vacancies.

vii) Successful candidates should not accept more than one internship offer, as doing so will result in disqualification.

viii) Successful applicants need Personal Accident Insurance for personal risk coverage during the internship.

Note

a) The Teacher Internship Program is a one-year initiative aimed at improving the teaching skills of registered teachers through mentorship and practical teaching experience.

b) During verification/interviews, applicants must provide several documents, including a Teacher Registration Certificate and National Identity Card, among others.

Duration of Internship

The internship program will span twelve months.

Monthly Stipend for Teacher Interns

While this is not a paid position, secondary school teacher interns will receive a monthly stipend of Kshs. 20,000, subject to statutory deductions.

Internship Certificate

Upon successful completion of the program, teacher interns will be awarded a certificate.
