TSC Sets New Conditions For Transfer Approval

All instructors seeking transfers from one station to another have received a statement from the teachers’ employer, the Teachers Service Commission. Any tutor who requests a transfer must meet three strict requirements, according to the commission, in order for their request to be authorized.

Thousands of transfer requests have been submitted to TSC. The tutors who have been impacted by the delocalization policy have made the majority of the transfer requests.

This has caused them to be separated from their loved ones from their home counties for such a long time that it has become extremely difficult for them to cope alone, away from their loved ones.

The TSC has chosen to add requirements that teachers requesting transfers must achieve as a result of the overwhelming number of requests that are flooding its headquarters.

TSC was compelled to act by teacher pressure and submitted this  in response to a public uproar from teachers about the commission’s stalled response to teacher transfer petitions. In light of this, we will highlight the requirements that must be satisfied in order for a teacher to transfer from station A to station B.

The commission’s statement comes as the government and TSC prepare to discuss and decide on a delocalization policy. The government had pledged to cease the delocalization strategy, which was one of the reasons for the planned conference.

Rigathi Gachagua, the vice president, stated last week that the government and TSC will meet to explore how teachers may be moved to their home regions.

The TSC transfer instructions, according to the commission, are, nevertheless, much ahead of the scheduled meeting. TSC recently said in an email that in order to be transferred, a teacher must have served for at least five years at their current station.

The commission added that for swaps to take effect, instructors will need to agree on replacement swaps and both must apply to move to their corresponding new stations. Swaps must involve teachers of the same topic combination, have worked at the same station for at least five years, and show mutual interest.

The minimum working station period for teachers in North Eastern is three years. Teachers from other regions must complete five years. However, as time passes, the regulations may be altered in favor of the teachers who have suffered greatly as a result of the teacher delocalization policy.
