Education PS Kipsang Unveils Changes In Education Sector
The PS for Education, Belio Kipsang, has unveiled forthcoming transformations within the education system, particularly in the evaluation of students post-KCSE and at various educational levels.
The PS envisions a shift from the conventional practice of grading students solely based on academic performance to a more holistic approach, considering their aptitudes and interests.
This new approach aims to provide students with the opportunity to discover and nurture their unique potentials, life goals, and interests. Kipsang has communicated to parents that this revised grading system will align closely with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in education.

Under this system, students and pupils will be encouraged to explore a diverse range of courses in school, which will facilitate teachers in identifying and nurturing the talents and interests of individual students.
This means that exceptional athletes, be it in football or volleyball, will have the chance to be recognized within the school environment. Musically gifted students will also be identified and supported to pursue their artistic careers.
The government’s latest educational approach underscores President William Ruto’s unwavering support for the CBC Education system. The President has ushered in significant changes to the CBC, which has contributed to Kenya’s notable advancements and substantial progress in the education sector.
