Term Dates For Term 2 Changed by Ministry Of Education
The Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Belio Kipsang, has announced revisions to the second term midterm dates in a circular dated April 24, 2023.
The second term’s midterm dates were set for June 29 through July 2, according to the circular. However, this PS has made adjustments from June 27, 2023, to July 1, 2023.
KESSHA Request
The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) chairperson Kahi Indimuli pleaded with the PS to adjust the dates so that they would have time to attend the KESSHA conference, which led to these revisions.
Our team was able to determine from the letter that the KESSHA chairman asked for an extension of the second term’s midterm dates so that they may attend the 46th KESSHA conference.

Request to Extend Mid-Term Dates, Reference
This letter, Ref. KESSHA/NATCONFF/3/VOL.1/23, from the National Chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association on the aforementioned matter, dated March 26, 2023, is referred to.
The letter mentions that the KESSHA 46th National Conference will be held on the same dates as the second term’s midterm exams as they are currently scheduled.
The National KESSHA Conference is a significant occasion that enables school administrators to reflect on and exchange experiences in managing schools, as acknowledged by the Ministry.
The midterm dates for the second term year 2023 have been changed as a result, and will now run from June 27 to July 1, 2023.
The changing dates must be noted and followed by all school administrators.
