Parliamentary Public Investment Committee Statement on Placement
The Parliamentary Public Investment Committee (PIC) on 25, April, 2023 indicated that all the students who qualified for university in 2022 will receive a placement letter once the KUCCPS portal is opened.
The committee made this statement when it met the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) CEO Mercy Wahome.
“More than 170,000 students who are awaiting university placement will be enrolled in public universities that have a capacity of 194,000 slots,” a statement from the committee read in part.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) assured all students that it will open its portal soon to allow them submit their applications for placement to various programmes in various universities in September this year.
“We are waiting for a go ahead to open the portal for students,” KUCCPS announced.
Therefore, the above allegations are baseless and should be discarded and wait for clear and official communication from the Ministry Of Education CS Ezekiel Machogu soon after the taskforce report is out.
