School Calendar: Key Dates for KCPE, KCSE and Grade 6 as Term 2 Begins
According to the circular from the Ministry, schools will reopen for term three on August 28 and the term will run for 9 weeks.
There will be three major national exams in third term, that is Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE).
Registration of candidates for the 2023 KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE examinations started on February 1, and the deadline was March 20.
The registration for the national examinations was done electronically through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal www.knec-portal.ac.ke where candidates’ details were uploaded using specific passwords for each examination centre.
The Ministry’s circular states that on August 28, schools would resume classes for term three, which will last nine weeks.
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), and Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE) are the three main national exams that will be administered during the third term.
The registration period for the KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE exams in 2023 began on February 1 and ended on March 20.
Candidates’ information was uploaded using unique passwords for each examination center on the Kenya National Examination Council portal, www.knec-portal.ac.ke, during the electronic registration process for the national exams.
The nationwide KCPE and KPSEA exams for students in grades 6 and 8 will begin on October 30 and go until November 2.
The KCSE exam, on the other hand, was slated to begin on November 3 and last for three weeks, ending on November 24.
From November 27 to December 15, 2023, three weeks were allotted for the KCSE test marking.
