TSC New Vision and Mission Statements
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has introduced new mission and vision statements as part of their efforts to enhance their role in the teaching service. Here are the new mission and vision statements:
Old Mission
“To professionalize the teaching service for quality education and development.”
New Mission
“To regulate, maintain and manage the teaching service through sound policies and operational excellence for quality teaching and lifelong learning.”

Old Vision
“To be a transformative teaching service for quality education.”
New Vision:
“A motivated, ethical and globally competitive teacher.”
In addition to the new mission and vision statements, the core functions of the Teachers Service Commission include registering trained teachers, recruiting and employing trained teachers, assigning teachers for service in public schools or institutions, promoting and transferring teachers, exercising disciplinary control over teachers, terminating the employment of teachers, reviewing education and training standards for those entering the teaching service, assessing the demand for and supply of teachers, and advising the national government on matters related to the teaching profession.
TSC New Vision and Mission Statements
The core values of TSC are professionalism, customer focus, integrity, innovativeness, and team spirit. These values reflect the principles that guide the commission in fulfilling its mission and vision.
The new mission and vision statements and core values are part of TSC’s commitment to improving the quality of education and the teaching profession in Kenya.
