TSC New Interview Requirements For July 2023 Intern Recruitment
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced new guidelines for teachers who have been selected for interviews.
All applicants MUST be qualified teachers in accordance with Section 23(1) of the Teachers Service Commission Act of 2012.
To avoid hiring unregistered or deregistered individuals, TSC County Directors MUST make sure that Heads of Institutions check the online registration status of applicants throughout the shortlisting stage.
Affidavits made pursuant to Kenya’s Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap. 15, must:
- be submitted by candidates whose names appear differently on academic and professional certificates and/or identification cards, together with a statement describing the difference.
- Candidates who retake the KCPE or KCSE exam (or its equivalent) are REQUIRED to submit:
- certified copies of the national examination certificate(s).
The Sub-County Directors must certify copies of the certificates.
Resulting from the system Five (5) candidates will be chosen from the Applicants’ Lists by the County Selection Panel for each job.

Documents to carry to a TSC recruitment Interview
Applicants MUST produce the originals and clear copies of the following papers upon interview invitation:-
- National identification card;
- Certificate of Registration as a teacher;
- Authentic evidence of service as a teacher intern (where applicable);
- Diploma/Degree certificate and official transcripts;
- KCSE certificates or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re- sat exams);
- KCPE certificate or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re- sat exams);
- Primary and Secondary School leaving certificates and other relevant testimonials;
- National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);
- An Affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain the variance in names;
- Letter of certification of results by KNEC (where applicable
