KNEC 2023 KCSE Qualifying Test Examination Timetable

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the official timetable and instructions for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Qualifying Test Examination.

General Instructions:

The exam starts promptly at 8:30 a.m., and candidates must arrive on time.

Each paper has a specified duration with no extra time allowed.

The time on the question paper is accurate, and reading time is included in the total.

Supervisors ensure candidates fill out their papers correctly, while candidates confirm they have all required materials.

Examination Period and Date:

The exam takes place on Monday, October 30, 2023, with the following schedule:

Morning Session:

Paper: QT904 Mathematics & Science

Duration: 2 hours (8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.)

Break:

Duration: 30 minutes (10:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.)

Midday Session:

Paper: QT903/1 English

Duration: 2 hours (11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.)

Lunch Break:

Duration: 1 hour (1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.)

Afternoon Session:

Paper 1: QT903/2 Kiswahili

Paper 2: QT903/3 Kenyan Sign Language

Duration: 2 hours each (2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.)

Instructions and Guidelines:

Sub-County Examination Officers must ensure candidates follow provided instructions to prevent irregularities or misconduct.

Instructions to Candidates:

– Arrive 15 minutes early.

– Confirm the question paper matches your registration.

– Pay attention to general instructions.

– Write your name and index number on the answer booklet.

– Use black or blue ink (pencils for diagrams).

– Indicate question numbers clearly.

– Read each question carefully.

– Submit your booklet when instructed.

Caution to Candidates:

– Leaving early requires supervisor permission.

– Don’t leave written materials visible to others.

– No communication between candidates or outsiders.

– No unauthorized materials or electronic devices, including cell phones.
