Police in Nyandarua County are holding a Form 3 student from Murichu Secondary School for attacking a teacher.
Samuel Migwi was arrested on Monday after he dropped punches and kicks on Mr John Gikonyo, the teacher on duty, for punishing him.
Gikonyo reportedly got in trouble after he criticised Migwi for skipping the queue when they were being served lunch.
He was saved by his colleagues who called the police.
The school administration informed the police who sped to the scene and made the arrest, according to Nyandarua North sub-county police boss Timon Odingo.
“The student had been punished for his action before he assaulted the teacher. He was rescued by his colleagues,” he said.
Odingo said the 20-year-old student has since been locked up at Ndaragwa Police Station awaiting to be arraigned in court.
“We will charge him with assault. We will not allow this trend to continue” he said.
