Big win to teachers as TSC makes these announcements
In Kenya, the teachers service commission is the only commission mandated to;
- Mandates of TSC,
- Employ teachers
- Remunerate teachers
- Promote teachers from one job group to the other
- And also to do teacher transfers from one work station to the other
Currently, the commission is under the leadership of Dr. Nancy Macharia. Nancy is serving as the current chief executive officer for the teachers service commission.
The chief executive officer, Dr Macharia, and the management of the teachers service commission at large is always on the look to ensure that all teachers across the country enjoy serving the teachers service commission.
In latest news from the commission, TSC has confirmed that there will be a salary increment by 6,000 Kenya shillings per month to all P1 teachers. This has landed as good news in the ears of all teachers who are expected to benefit from the increment.
The salary increment which is going to positively affect all primary school teachers is scheduled for initiation as from July. This will be immediately the learners get back to school from their half term break.
Dr Macharia who was speaking when giving these announcements assured all the primary school teachers that the teachers service commission is willing and ready to increase salaries for all P1 teachers across the different schools in the country. She also added that this increment is going to be initiated following the fact that primary school teachers are the ones who get in touch with so many activities that learners undergo in their early stages of development.

This is hope amid many bad news in the country following the facts that the country is surviving a very tough economic time as a result of the increased taxes which have made food prices to hike and also for the passing of the 1.5 percent housing levy proposal in parliament.
