Ben Chilwell describes a Chelsea player as possessing “huge potential” and conveys a message to Mason Mount

Ben Chilwell was saddened by Mason Mount’s departure from Chelsea.

Ben Chilwell is confident that Mykhailo Mudryk will realize his “tremendous potential” at Chelsea next season, and he “hopes” that Mason Mount will excel for his new club, Manchester United.

Mudryk’s first few months in the Premier League following his £89 million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in January were disappointing.

Arsenal was also interested in signing the Ukraine international, but he has yet to strike in 17 appearances for Chelsea.

Chilwell believes Mudryk will be able to validate his price tag in the upcoming season after he overcame his early struggles to excel in preseason under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

“I just see endless bags of potential that hasn’t been fulfilled yet. I’ve told him that, I’m not just saying it,”Chilwell stated regarding Mudryk .

“I’ve told him he hasn’t fulfilled that yet for one reason or another.

“I literally had a conversation with him today after training in the changing room, because he’s been on fire the last few days and obviously was on fire in the game against Brighton and I just said he needs to keep that up now for the whole season.

“We all see how good he is and he just needs to keep up what he’s been doing.”

Mudryk is one of several new players to join Chelsea in the past year, but the club’s focus this summer has been on streamlining Pochettino’s squad.

Mount, a graduate of the Chelsea academy, completed a £50 million transfer to Premier League rival Manchester United. Mount is one of the players who have departed Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell was saddened to see his close friend Mount depart west London, but he wishes him the best of luck at Old Trafford.

“Mason was one of my closest friends on the team,”

the English left-back made an addition to his statement,as reported by Football London

“On a personal level, you are going to miss one of your best mates that you spent a lot of time with at the training ground and away from the training ground.

“I think I said it on my Instagram when he left, he was one of the reasons why I joined the club, so of course it’s sad for me personally to see him leave.

“But I am not going to comment on his reasoning for leaving. I just wish him the best and I am sure in his head he’s made the right decision.

“I am happy for him and hopefully he can go there and do well.”
