The latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Barcelona reportedly made an offer to recruit Andrey Santos only six months after his last transfer. Mauricio Pochettino has intentions for him in preseason with the Blues.

Andrey Santos has sent a missive in response to rumors of Chelsea’s imminent departure.

Andrey Santos responded to rumors on Instagram that he will be joining Barcelona.

The player joined Mauricio Pochettino’s squad earlier in the week after successfully obtaining a Visa to enable him to enter the country and has been with the Blues. Santos was sent back to Vasco de Gama after his initial Visa application was denied; he had signed for approximately £12 million ($15.4 million) in January.

Santos, who is 19 years old, is already considered a first-team player and will have the opportunity to impress Pochettino and his squad during preseason training. It is anticipated that he will be part of the touring group to the United States that departs next week, but concerns remain.

Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez are the only remaining senior players in the position for Chelsea, who have already lost five midfielders since Santos joined the team in the winter. The position is now severely depleted. Young and inexperienced, Lewis Hall, Ian Maatsen, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Cesare Casadei can all play in midfield.

Santos is in the same camp and has yet to experience European football for the first time. His physique and dominant qualities for the Brazil Under-20s team, which he commands, make him an early candidate to play a significant role in the 2023/24 season.

However, last week it was reported from Portugal that Porto was interested in providing the player with a loan to ease him into life on a new continent. According to reports, they exerted significant pressure, but Chelsea remained adamant about giving him an opportunity to prove himself first.

Now, however, Barcelona has entered the picture, and reports from Portugal indicate that the Catalan powers were eager to discuss the possibility of signing Santos. This summer, Xavi’s squad purportedly attempted to re-acquire Santos after failing to do so in the past. Xavi’s squad was among a number of clubs competing for Santos’ services in the past.

With former Chelsea midfielder Deco as a potential bargaining chip, Barcelona was prepared to pursue Santos. Fabrizio Romano, however, has dispelled these rumors.

. “Chelsea are currently NOT negotiating with any club for Andrey Santos,”He penned.

“Despite lot of interest from many clubs in Europe, there are no concrete talks or advanced negotiations at this stage. Pochettino wants to see him in pre season. Directors believe he’s the future.”

As the news broke, Santos himself posted a timely message on Instagram. Alongside a photo of him training at Cobham, Santos penned, “[On emoji, white heart emoji]”, which was interpreted by many as a declaration of his intention to remain at Stamford Bridge.
