Secondary Schools Ball Games Set In Kakamega County
The high school baseball national championships will get underway in Kakamega County on Tuesday, August 8.
The competition’s organisers declared yesterday that they wouldn’t take any chances and would work hard to make the activities memorable.
Quinto Omusugu, Secretary General of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Western Region, stated that final national preparations were in progress.
He said that on Saturday, August 5, schools from around the nation that were qualified to represent their regions would begin arriving to the Western headquarters.

After arriving on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6, the contending teams will train in their own spaces and get acquainted with the neighbourhood, according to Omusugu.
From August 5 to August 7, referees who will oversee the numerous games will train.
The official announced, “The teams will rest on Monday, August 7, as we get ready for the official kickoff on Tuesday, August 8.”
The football, volleyball, rugby, handball, tennis and hockey games will be held in the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega High, St Ignatius Mukumu Boys, St Peter’s Seminary-Mukumu, Kakamega Approved School and Masinde Muliro University, to name a few venues.
Kakamega is buzzing with anticipation as companies get ready to capitalise on the large number of tourists during the five-day festival.
“Because it will encourage expansion, this event is crucial for the economy of our county. I thereby guarantee the organisers’ complete safety. Governor Fernandes Barasa said in his introductory remarks, “We are a peaceful and hospitable people, and I am confident that the participants will enjoy their time here.”
The term for primary schools in Kericho County At Cheptenye Primary School in Belgut Sub-County, two ball contests have been going on in the interim; play is expected to end today.
