One of the most sort out tv station in Tanzania, Wasafi Tv, linked to Tanzania superstar Diamond Platnumz who is the CEO, has suffered a major blow as it has been closed indefinitely for six months by the regulation board in Tanzania (TCRA) following a live show that was being aired on the station in which Tanzania socialite and Bongo Flava artist Gift Stanford Joshua is known as Gigy Money was performing ‘half-naked’, which is against Tanzania’s regulatory board policies.
This all started while during the live show organized by wasafi, tumewasha live that was being aired on 1st January from 8 pm to 11 pm in Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma, Gigy came up on stage wearing a ‘dera‘ and while performing she went on to remove the dera remaining with nothing left to show much or talked about.
TCRA went on to say that Gigy together with Wasafi Tv did not follow the regulations related to shows aired live on the television as the pictures aired were not ethical, put in their words during a press conference “….. picha za utupu ama zile zinazonyesha sehemu za umbile za siri ….” as the show is seen by various people ranging from kids, youths, parents and even older people.
TCRA has told the media that at the moment during the period they should go ahead and apologise in which Wasafi Tv has apologized to their viewers and fans saying it was unexpected of as they are up to obey the law and ethics guiding display of pictures allowed to be aired.
This already seems will lead to losses as the station is linked to various artists and certain businesses and shows will come to a standstill.
