Zimbabwe government has said that schools will resume this month. Zimbabwe learning institutions were closed when learning was suspended six months ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. The Zimbabwean government says the move is to enable candidates to do their exams.
Learners sitting for the Cambridge International exams will take lead in the resumption of studies on September 14th, as the result who are waiting for local exams will be reopened after two weeks later.
When revealing this, the Zimbabwean government said that the Ministry of Education was closely working with various stakeholders to ensure the safety of learners, teaching staff and non-teaching staffs when examinations will be going on.
Zimbabwean Education Ministry had earlier noted that final year school candidates would be given first priority to reopen as the rest of learners will have to stay at home until next year, 2021.
Zimbabwe Covid-19 Cases have raised to about 6,500 as 202 deaths have been recorded so far. However, most Covid-19 situations in the last month and a half has increased with mild and moderate situations. The government revealed that 80 per cent of the Covid-19 patients in Zimbabwe is recovering according to their records.
Zimbabwean airports will also resume action to boost tourism in the country. The government noted that local flights will resume before international flights however the government did not reveal when exactly that will take place.
