Azimio La Umoja-aligned politicians have closed ranks with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, telling him to go it alone if he is unwilling to work with coalition leader Raila Odinga and running mate Martha Karua.

Raila’s presidential campaigns in the region will continue, according to a meeting attended by Narc leader and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu (pictured), her Makueni counterpart and Muungano boss Kivutha Kibwana, Azimio Executive Director Raphael Tuju, and hundreds of aspirants from three Ukambani counties.

This comes as Kalonzo has declared that he will vote in what appears to be a protest after failing to secure the Azimio running mate position.

Ngilu, Kalonzo’s long-time political adversary, stated that the Kamba community will not allow the former Vice-President to lead it into opposition, especially at a time when there is an opportunity to be in Government.

According to Kitui governor, Kalonzo has made the Kamba community laugh after recently promising to support Raila unconditionally during the Azimio maiden rally at Jacaranda Gardens.

“I have not asked any single position since I Joined Azimio. I know the power of a Chief Minister in a Government, who on earth would turn down such a position?” she asked.

Kibwana echoed her sentiments, saying that if Kalonzo had been more decisive, the Kamba community would have progressed much further.

“If Kalonzo wants to run and loose alone, then it is fine… because we want to tell our people the truth that we only have two horses in the presidential ticket. One for Raila and Martha and then William Ruto,” Kibwana said.
