The KDF are a big part of the country as they are responsible for its safety and security well being of its citizens.
With the coming massive recruitment of new KDF trainees, it good to be knowledgeable about the earnings one is expected to receive from the training to the lowest and highest-ranking member.
The recruitment which takes effect every year did not take place last year due to the corona pandemic that had hit the country.
It usually attracts massive following from every part of the country with even in previous happenings there were cases of corruption where those caught were arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Their salaries are as follows
While in training a KDF cadet earns around Kshs 8,172 every month.
The lowest rank of a private officeR is paid between Kshs 19,941 to Ksh 30,000.
A lancer corporal earns between Kshs 27,509 and Kshs 45,000 every month.
The level of a corporal is paid between kshs 32,250 and kshs 70,000.
A captain earns between kshs 73,182 and kshs 110 every month.
The position of a major is paid between kshs 102,106 and kshs 150,000.
A lieutenant colonel monthly earns between kshs 130,735 and kshs 180,000.
A colonel earns monthly between Kshs 153,317 and kshs 300,000.
The second most ranked person who is the lieutenant general is paid between Kshs 632,984 and Kshs 800,000 every month.
The Chief of the Defence Forces who is the highest-ranked is paid between Kshs 900,800 and 1 million every month.
Even though the Kenya Defence Forces always have their salaries reviewed after every four years and the above salaries are in accordance with the last review.
