Preparations are in place for the upcoming national examinations that will be taken by 2.3 million students participating in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

Approximately 1,415,315 candidates are expected to sit for the KCPE examination, while an additional 903,260 will be taking the KCSE test.

David Njengere, the Chief Executive of the Kenya National Examination Council, has confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for 1,282,574 Grade Six learners.

Dr. Njengere further mentioned that candidate registration is finalized, examination papers are prepared, and the exams will be administered according to the provided timetable.

These statements were made during the inauguration of the 39th Association for Educational Assessment in Africa Conference held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi yesterday.

The conference’s theme, “Educational Assessment for Nurturing Every Learner’s Potential,” is in alignment with Kenya’s shift from the 8-4-4 curriculum to the Competency Based Curriculum.
