US Family Announces Ksh300 million Scholarship For Kenyans and Ugandans, How to Apply

US Ksh300 Million Scholarships For Kenyans

A  family, the Weingartz Family Foundation in the United States has issued the international Samaritan (IntSam) which is a non-governmental organizations Ksh270 million as grant to enable him expand his scholarship in Kenya and Uganda.

The International Samaritan organization president Tenbusch stated that the grant would provide scholarships in the next three years for 200 youths.

The president further indicated that the award of this Scholarship is aimed at benefiting those living around dump sites to enable them escape the jaws ofc poverty.

“According to the World Health Organization (WHO), people living in these places have a life expectancy of 35 which is orchestrated by the rampant diseases, lack of clean water and injuries,” he stated.

Tenbusch indicated that Nairobi’s dumpsites is the largest in the whole world hosting about 1 million youths who stay in the surrounding slums. He stated that this is the reason why they have decided to begin with youths in Kenya.

The organization’s president stated that beginning this April, they will start with the youths in Nairobi and Kampala, Uganda and they are likely to issues Ksh419,895 worthy of scholarships every year to each student in the next three years.

Among the areas that the scholarship would cover include;

  • Primary school level
  • College
  • Tuition fees
  • Uniforms
  • Books
  • Supplies
  • Transportation
  • Food for their family

“Students with the greatest need and highest potential are sponsored to attend school from elementary through college and trade schools.

“Funding each student’s education cost about Ksh. 419,895 annually, including tuition fees, uniforms, books, supplies, transportation and food for their families,” added the president.

One of the family members, Dan Weingartz said the move was necessitated by the work the organization had done in Ethiopia in impacting families.

“International Samaritan has a beautiful mission of helping the poorest. I observed how hope exists among those we serve in garbage dump communities,” Dan said.

“I experienced how our scholars and families have faith in God, their families and their communities. The seeds we are planting in Africa will bear fruit for generations,” Stated Weingartz Family.
