Two Premier League Clubs Enter the Fray to Acquire £19m Manchester United Star Amidst Intense Competition
Two additional Premier League clubs have joined the contest to sign Manchester United winger Amad Diallo after his successful loan stint last season.
The 20-year-old winger is currently one of the most sought-after players in the Championship and among newly promoted clubs.
Diallo excelled in his loan season with Sunderland, netting 14 goals and dishing out three assists.
He dominated the competition in the Championship, and it is possible that he will receive another loan this summer.
Southampton has recently expressed interest in loaning Diallo for the remainder of the season, but they now face Premier League competition.
Football Insider reports that newly promoted Burnley and Sheffield United are both interested in loaning Diallo.
A loan transfer to the Premier League would be ideal for Diallo to reach the next level of his career.
He would be able to demonstrate his abilities against Premier League defenders at a greater level.
Given Vincent Kompany’s fluid playstyle at Burnley, a loan transfer to Turf Moor could be beneficial for his development.
Burnley utilized a dynamic 4-2-3-1 formation in the Championship, with their wingers contributing to the majority of their goals.
West Ham and Sunderland are also monitoring the 20-year-old, along with Burnley and Sheffield United.
Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has expressed his desire to bring Diallo back for the upcoming season, despite admitting that it is unlikely.
Mowbray told reporters at the end of the season, “If they believe he could play in their first team in the future, they need to keep him on board, but I suspect they will try him at a lower level.”
“One would assume that he would sign with a Premier League club or perhaps return to Italy to play in Serie A, Spain, or wherever the case may be.
If Amad does not remain at Manchester United, I believe he will sign a lucrative contract with a prominent Spanish team.
Diallo joined United for an initial cost of £19 million in 2021. He is under contract with the club until 2025, with an additional year option.
