TSC Vets Teachers To Be Involved in Invigilating and Supervising National Exams

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) recently concluded a meticulous vetting process, scrutinizing a total of 223,223 teachers who have been designated to serve as supervisors and invigilators during the upcoming national examinations.

This announcement was made by TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, who also highlighted another significant development: the selection of 37,731 instructors who will play pivotal roles as examiners.

In the upcoming examination period, center administrators will hold a crucial responsibility. Their task revolves around the secure collection of examination papers, which must be carried out with the utmost diligence, adhering strictly to examination protocols. To streamline this operation, the TSC has dispatched an impressive workforce of 71,760 center managers.

These individuals will actively participate in subcounty briefing meetings, which are set to be conducted nationwide by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) during the initial week of October 2023.

Macharia also emphasized a key policy: the annual rotation of staff. To ensure that there is no retention of supervisors or invigilators from the previous year’s national examinations, only center and deputy center managers will be required to be physically present in schools throughout the examination period.

Nancy Macharia concluded by reaffirming the TSC’s unwavering commitment, along with the dedication of its staff and teachers, to provide comprehensive support, with the shared goal of ensuring that the upcoming national examinations are executed with great success.
