He claimed that a Kenyan teacher is currently covered by medical plans. He also emphasised the union’s displeasure with the way the government treats educators.
Barasa added that all the teachers are going through is a direct outcome of the topics that are debated in parliament. He consequently pleaded with the lawmakers to consider the concept of revisiting the medical programme. As a result, this will bring comfort to the nation’s suffering teachers.
Kenyan citizens are currently burdened with heavy taxes. The Kuppet chairperson has pleaded with the Kenyan government to take into account increasing the monthly salary of teachers. This will enable them to survive the challenging economic times facing the nation.
At the moment, educators have enrolled themselves with the AON network. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has a deal with this insurance provider to offer medical care to teachers.
