TSC to recruit these teachers immediately after 2023/2024 Budget
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) recently submitted a new proposal regarding the hiring of 20,000 extra intern instructors.
The commission states that this will happen right after the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
TSC CEO, Dr. Nancy Macharia, stated in her presentations to the National Assembly’s Committee on Education and Research on Monday that this hiring will help the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda’s primary goal become a reality.
The shortfall in our public schools must be reduced in order to ensure that students receive a decent education, according to Macharia, who spoke to this committee.

According to Macharia, simply employing teacher interns will have an effect on a number of individuals since it will give many of the young people who are currently jobless a place to work.
Additionally, this decision will raise many households’ levels of living nationwide and enhance school quality.
Dr. Macharia was invited to this conference to discuss the commission’s projected revenue and expenses for the fiscal year 2023–2024.

Additionally, the TSC head disclosed that the commission is putting in place a comprehensive medical plan for teachers and their dependents.
Additionally, Macharia asked for Sh2.2 billion to be set up for the promotion of teachers in various job cadres that have subsequently reached a standstill.A budget of Sh2.1 billion must also be allocated to TSC in order to support teacher professional development.
