The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has introduced a new scheme for replacing instructors who have retired due to natural reasons. Dr. Jamleck Muturi, the TSC Chairperson, announced that there are vacant positions available to replace teachers who have retired due to natural attrition.
During a press conference at Tambach Teachers Training College, Mr. Muturi revealed that the government will give priority to areas facing teacher shortages in the recruitment and deployment process. He emphasized that despite a nationwide shortage of approximately 100,000 teachers, the government consistently offers opportunities to hire 5,000 new teachers annually.
Muturi urged stakeholders in the education sector in Elgeyo Marakwet to collaborate to enhance education quality throughout the county. The commission is working to create a conducive environment for both students and teachers, emphasizing the significance of all parties in ensuring high-quality education.
