TSC Sets Deadline for 36,000 Promotion Application; Check Out
The Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) has announced a significant opportunity for teachers to apply for 36,000 promotion vacancies, with the application deadline set for September 8, 2023. These promotions will span across nine different grades, addressing concerns about teacher career stagnation.
This development comes shortly after successful salary review negotiations for teachers and is aimed at promoting teachers across various levels within primary and secondary schools, as well as teacher-training institutions.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the promotion opportunities:
– 12,716 openings for the position of senior master.
– 10,819 teachers will be promoted to senior teachers in conventional primary schools.
– 700 openings for senior teacher positions in institutions for students with special needs.
– 216 openings for the Grade C4 position of senior lecturer in teacher-training colleges.
– 108 senior principal positions and 34 chief principal positions are also available.

Interested teachers are required to submit their applications through the TSC portal by September 8th. The funding for these 36,275 promotions has been allocated by the National Treasury, amounting to Ksh 1 billion.
