To be eligible for a leadership position in a post-primary institution, teachers must meet specific qualifications. Applicants for promotions should be professionally trained university graduates, technical teachers, or lecturers employed by the Teachers Service Commission. Additionally, they are expected to demonstrate competence in both classroom teaching and administration, maintain a minimum job group M grade, and have a clean personal record.

– Teacher Knowledge on the Formation, Members, and Functions of PTA/BOM: 5 marks
– Teacher Plays Role of the Sponsor: 2 marks
– Sub-total: 30 marks
2. Teacher’s Knowledge on Education Issues, Especially Trends in the Post-Independence Period
– Teacher’s Knowledge of All Education Commissions: 3 marks
– Teacher’s Knowledge on the Purpose for Formation of Such Commissions: 3 marks
– Teacher’s Knowledge on the Respective Recommendations: 3 marks
– Teacher’s Adoptions/Implementation: 3 marks
– Sub-total: 12 marks
3. Test on Teacher’s Knowledge of Curriculum Development, Implementation, and Evaluation
– Teacher Knowledge on Curriculum Development: 3 marks
– Knowledge on the Structure of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum and Development, KICD: 3 marks
– Knowledge on the Functions of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, KICD: 5 marks
– Knowledge on Current Trends in Curriculum Implementation: 5 marks
– Knowledge on the Structure and Function of the Teachers Service Commission: 4 marks
– Knowledge on the Functions and Structure of the Ministry of Education – Inspection and Directorate Evaluation, as well as Membership of the Kenya National Examinations Council: 3 marks
– Knowledge on the Relationship between TSC, the MoE/MOEST, KNEC, and KIE: 5 marks
