TSC Requirements for promoting C1 to C2 in September 2023
The Teachers Service Commission functions as a Constitutional Commission as per Article 237 (1) of the Constitution.
In line with this responsibility, the Commission is calling for applications from suitably qualified teachers for the positions listed below, following the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers.
Interested candidates who meet the qualifications should submit their applications online via the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke by no later than September 8, 2023.
Applications submitted manually will not be considered.

Note: Successful interviewees must provide valid Chapter 6 documents before being appointed.
These documents include:
– A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
– Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
– Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
– Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
– A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

ADVERTISEMENT NO. 61/2023(C1-C2): SENIOR TEACHER II (REGULAR PRIMARY SCHOOL) – T-SCALE 7 – 10,819 POSITIONS
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To be appointed to this position, a teacher must:
i. Have worked as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for a minimum of three (3) years;
ii. Have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
iii. Fulfill the conditions outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
iv. Satisfy any other requirement set by the Commission.
Note: Candidates in arid and hard-to-staff counties who have worked in the current grade for a minimum of 2 years are eligible.
ADVERTISEMENT NO. 62/2023 (C1-C2): SENIOR TEACHER II (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL) – T-SCALE 7 – 700 POSITIONS
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To be appointed to this position, a teacher must:
i. Have worked as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for a minimum of three (3) years;
ii. Hold at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the specified area);
iii. Have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
iv. Fulfill the conditions outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
v. Satisfy any other requirement set by the Commission.
Note: Candidates in arid and hard-to-staff counties who have worked in the current grade for a minimum of 2 years are eligible.
