Tsc Publishes Names Of 1,900 Promoted Teachers Per County
At least 1,900 promotional letters from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have been given to local school administrators.
Property owners are already receiving posting notices from a number of counties. Since the interviews were over, the letters haven’t been distributed right away.
Early delivery of their letters allowed the newly posted instructors to report to their new location and start working the following term.
Prior to removing the posting, TSC placed an advertisement for 14,738 teaching posts in December 2022.
It requested additional applications in January, March, and May of this year.
The Commission has not yet distributed letters to teachers who submitted applications to become senior teachers.
While they wait for confirmation, some teachers were acting in an interim capacity as senior teachers.

According to the TSC database, which is also available in county and subcounty directors offices, the majority of the teachers who participated in promotion interviews in March and were selected for the positions they applied for have not yet been posted.
A senior TSC official attributed the delays to a lack of funding, which was provided by the Treasury in installments.
Due to the financial crisis, there will be limited promotion of instructors to senior positions.
Nancy Macharia, the CEO of TSC, has cited teachers’ stagnation and lack of promotion as reasons.
She claimed that teachers were reluctant to submit applications for promotions in nearby counties.
According to the TSC chief, the commission earlier this year publicised 14,738 opportunities for the promotion of teachers to different grades to fill jobs created by attrition.
However, only 11,231 instructors were employed, leaving 3,507 open posts because there weren’t enough qualified applicants. A total of 1,021 slots were reserved for teachers who practised affirmative action.
TSC published job advertisements for the posts of chief principal, principal, deputy principal, senior master, headteacher and senior teacher for both ordinary and special schools.
