TSC Process Of Replacement of Teachers Exiting Service
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) reports that replacement teachers have taken the places of those who have left the profession owing to attrition.
The TSC’s chairman, Dr. Jamleck Muturi, declared that the commission would publish employment positions for interested parties to apply for.
Dr. Muturi said this while giving a speech at Tambachi Teachers College in Elgeyo Marakwet County. He said that the commission would give precedence to areas where there is a teacher shortage throughout the hiring process.
The speaker also mentioned the government’s initiatives to increase the number of educators working in all public institutions.
Despite the government allowing the TSC to hire 5,000 instructors a year, Dr. Muturi thinks that there is a shortfall of roughly 100,000 teachers nationally.
In order to preserve high standards of education in the county and to ensure that pupils receive a high-quality education, he urged education stakeholders to work together.
All of the nation’s instructors should work in inviting environments, according to the TSC. The commission is actively hiring educators across the country, thus Dr. Muturi asked recently graduated educators to submit applications for the open teaching positions.
Due to the severe teacher shortage in junior secondary schools, the TSC is taking efforts to alleviate this issue. For instance, a Junior Secondary teacher cannot effectively educate 100 students in all disciplines.
The commission is currently looking for qualified primary school teachers to address the teaching void in junior secondary schools.
This teacher ought to have at least the grade required to teach in a junior secondary school.
For deployment to JSS, candidates must have a diploma or degree in education, a minimum C simple mean grade in the KCSE, and a minimum C+ in two teaching topics.
Those who meet the aforementioned prerequisites are urged to apply for the open positions. The commission has extended the application deadline.
