TSC Makes Changes to Promotional Vacancies favoring Teachers
The Teachers Service Commission has, in a significant development, extended the application deadline for promotional vacancies accessible to educators this year. Initially scheduled for September 8th, the deadline has now been pushed to September 15th, providing an invaluable opportunity for more than 36,000 teachers to submit their applications.
These changes follow extensive salary negotiation discussions and will impact teachers across both primary and secondary schools, as well as those in teacher training institutes. Remarkably, the National Treasury has already earmarked KES 1 billion to support these promotions.

Among the exciting promotional opportunities available are 12,716 openings for the role of senior master, 10,819 positions for senior teachers in traditional primary schools, 700 positions for senior teachers in institutions catering to students with special needs, 216 openings for the esteemed grade C4 role of senior lecturer in teacher training colleges, 108 senior principal positions, and 34 chief principal positions.
Teachers keen on advancing their careers are strongly encouraged to promptly submit their applications through the TSC portal before the extended deadline mentioned above. This extension undoubtedly provides a broader window of opportunity for educators to seize these career-enhancing prospects.
