TSC Deregister These 44 Teachers In Fresh Operation of Disciplinary Action
TSC Deregister 44 Teachers. Following a disciplinary process, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has deregistered 44 Teachers.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TSC Nancy Macharia indicated on 31st March 2023 that the 44 Teachers have been barred from practicing teaching or assisting in teaching.
She further indicated that these teachers can only be reinstated following the direction of the commission.
“Where the name of any teacher is removed from the register under this act, such name shall not be reinstated except by direction of the Commission,” stated Macharia.
The Chief Executive Officer CEO warned schools over employing these teachers indicating that those who will employ them will be prosecuted.
The commission further indicated that any teacher who is not registered by the commission shall not be permitted to teach in any school.
Any school that will employ such teachers will be liable of an offence which will amount to a fine of not less than Sh. 100,000 or an imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both.
The commission explained that deregistered teachers were convicted and found guilty of an offence after investigation that prompted the disciplinary action.
The commission though did not indicate their disciplinary action that was meted on these teachers.

The gazette notice by the commission indicated that the teachers had been removed from the TSC register since October 2022.
TSC Deregister 44 Teachers
Ezekiel Machogu, the education CS on 17th January threatened to take action over school heads who would impose extra money in schools.
The CS indicated that it was keen to take action on teachers violating this directive from the Ministry Of Education (MoE).
“Let no principal or headteacher dare me,” Ezekiel Machogu indicated.
