TSC Cancels Leaves Until The End Of KCPE, KCSE National Examinations

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the cancellation of all yearly leave and field activities for all its employees in readiness for the national examinations.

Both the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will begin this month.

TSC boss Dr Nancy Njeri Macharia this week directed all field officers to offer complete attention to the process of examination.

“The Commission has cancelled all annual leave and field activities for all our sub-county, county, and regional officers during the examination period.

“We have asked all those who had already proceed on leave to report to their stations effective March 8 to step up joint preparations for the smooth delivery of all examinations,” said Dr Macharia.

The Commission has also circulated guidelines to teachers and officials who will be involved in the examination process on adherence to COVID-19 mitigation measures.

Exactly 227,629 teachers will manage the national examination set to commence on March 22. The TSC CEO urged field officers to support schools to ensure teachers have full access to the Kenya National Examination Council’s (KNEC) assessment tools.
