Three suspects arrested in connection with the lynching of a boy at a girls’ school.
Three guards from Komothai Girls Secondary School have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a form four student from Gathiruini High School.
According to a report, the deceased 17-year-old was accused of leading a group of male students into the institution on Thursday, October 21, before being attacked.

The victim was rushed to Kigumo Level IV Hospital unconscious but died from his injuries while receiving treatment.
The trio was arrested a day after detectives took statements from the students, and they are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 26 to answer charges.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, “they had tiptoed into Phoeb House under the cover of darkness for an unknown mission, before they were spotted by some girls who immediately raised alarm,” attracting the entire school.
The DCI also stated that students, teachers, and security guards arrived at the crime scene to see what was going on.
At the same time, detectives are looking for the other five boys who sneaked together with the victim that fateful night.
According to the George Kinoti-led committee, the boys walked out of their school at 4 a.m., crept into the girls’ dormitory, and then fled, leaving the victim behind after he was cornered.
Kinoti stated in a statement that the other five boys were able to find their way back to their school, while the deceased was caught by angry students and staff.
He went on to say that the detectives later returned to the scene and recovered planks of wood suspected of being used to assault the victim.
Several lynchings have been reported in recent weeks, with police warning the public not to take the law into their own hands.
