Callum Hudson-Odoi desires to depart Chelsea in the summer.
The Athletic reports that Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has decided to quit the club during the summer transfer window.
Hudson-Odoi spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga. The winger made only 21 appearances in all competitions, netting one goal and assisting on another (Transfermarkt).
The England international reported for preseason training with Mauricio Pochettino, but it is not anticipated that he will remain in the summer for very long.
This summer, Callum Hudson-Odoi wants to depart Chelsea.
The report indicates that the Blues were already seeking potential buyers for the 22-year-old player. He has only one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge (Transfermarkt).
The club has made it a habit to sell players whose contracts have entered their final year. Examples include Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City and Mason Mount to Manchester United.
In addition, it makes no sense for Chelsea to retain Hudson-Odoi, who will likely not see much action next season. Pochettino can choose from Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, and others to add breadth to the forward line.

The expectation is that a bidder will make an offer on the 22-year-old. The key for Chelsea would be to avoid lengthy negotiations and close the transaction.
Also, let’s hope that the club’s academy product succeeds wherever he goes this summer, has a successful career, and makes the Chelsea academy proud for producing yet another incredible player.
There have been recent instances of Blues academy athletes failing to make the team but succeeding elsewhere. Fikayo Tomori at AC Milan is an excellent illustration of this. Tammy Abraham at AS Roma is another example, although the striker also performed admirably for Chelsea.
