Teachers in Job Group D5 Have Reasons to Smile As Report Reveals This on their New Salary

In a news report that has been shared by a reliable source of information, it has been revealed that teachers in job group D5 have been served with good news according to the proposed salary increment for teachers.

According to the report shared by a reliable source of information, it has been revealed that teachers in job group D5 rank whose current basic pay is Sh157,657 will get a maximum of Sh173,422. This is after Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) announced a 7 to 10 per cent salary rise among TSC teachers backdated to July 1.

Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, chairperson Lyn Mengich stated that the salary increases will be backdated to July 1

“Pursuant to the constitutional principle of affordability and fiscal sustainability, SRC engaged the National Treasury on funding. The National Treasury advised SRC to consider reviewing remuneration structure within a budget allocation of Sh27.7 billion for the year 2023/24,” Lyn Mengich stated.

This is a good news and a sigh of relief to teachers as this increment will help them to counter 1.5% housing levy that is set to be deducted on basic salaries every month.
