Teachers Cry Foul Of Empty Pay Slips Amid Increased NSSF Deductions

The kenya kwanza in its first term has implemented various financial laws that impacts pay slips of civil servants. One such laws is the national social security fund contribution amount by government employees. Initially, every worker was contributing sh. 200 monthly towards the fund. President Ruto raised the bar to sh. 1080 pegging his move on need to save.

Following these, teachers have come to realization that they are almost having empty pay slips. In fact, teachers are walking home with one third of their salaries retained by the government as deductions towards the National social security fund.

It is for this reason that the tutors have rejected the NSSF deduction by telling the court remissions breach a third rule as per labor laws. The move may be useful to majority of teachers who have taken loans and current deductions leaves them with nothing to support their daily expenditure as they render their services.
