A student from Ainamoi Secondary School is on the run following Wednesday’s conflict with the school principal. The student hit his principal with a piece of wood that had a six-inch nail sticking out after he was allegedly sent home over fees arrears.
According to Kericho county police commander Silas Mathiu, the student hit Geoffrey Rono on Wednesday at 9 pm within the school compound.
After the attack, the student went into hiding and is being sought by the police.
Mathiu said the principal had earlier on picked a quarrel with the student over school fee arrears.
A good Samaritan is said to have rushed the headteacher to Kericho Level 4 Hospital, where he received treatment before being discharged.
A source from the nearby village states that he form 3 student had several quarrels with the principal over school fees arrears.
