Since Dagoretti High School had defeated St. Anthony High School in the group match by a score of 1-0, the triumph in the finals was a form of harsh payback for St. Anthony.

Nonetheless, Kenya will be represented by both of these schools in the East African Community football competition.

Among the dignitaries who were present in Bukhungu were Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba, and Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

In addition to Governor Fernandes Barasa, his colleague from Trans Nzoia, George Natembeya, and Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi were there.
