According to Ezekiel Machogu, the best student with special needs who took the KCPE in 2022 earned 419 marks.
Wednesday at Mitihani’s home, Machogu announced the KCPE exams results.
The CS said that seven special needs pupils got above 400 marks, or 0.29 percent.
According to him, this is considerable improvement from the previous year, when just two students were able to score above 400.
There were 296 candidates who earned between 300 and 400 marks, accounting for 12.2% of the total.
34.6 percent of 838 students with special needs received between 200 and 299 marks.
An additional 1,270 pupils with special needs received between 100 and 199 marks, or 12.2% of the total.
Only six students received between one and 99 marks.
Machogu stated that they are hoping for a 100 percent transition to high school.
Compared to the previous year, he reported an improvement in performance.
The CS said that the mean average performance ranged from 200 to 299 marks.
He remarked that he was quite impressed with this year’s performance because it was an improvement.
2,417 students took the exam with disabilities.
