The principal of Gekomoni Technical Secondary School in Nyamira South found himself in a troublesome situation recently when he was arrested for sharing KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) examination content via WhatsApp.

These measures include tamper-proof packaging and watermark barcodes, designed to deter any attempts at copying or unauthorized photography using mobile phones.
The situation unfolded when the Kenya National Examination Council’s (KNEC) forensic team detected suspicious activity. Detectives from the Nyamira Criminal Investigation Team were swiftly informed and promptly apprehended the principal, preventing further dissemination of the confidential exam material.
