Ruto Appoints Joseah Kiplangat as New KMTC Chairperson
President William Ruto has appointed Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot as the new Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) board chairperson for a period of 3 years.
In the changes announced on Friday through a Gazette Notice, Ruto revoked the appointment of Zachary Maburi Mwita who was appointed by retired president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2021.
Also affected by the changes are four board members whose appointments have been revoked by Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha.

Nakhumicha fired Naomi Kathure Mutua, Stephen Ochiel, Jennifer Bosibori Kibagendi and Fredrick Wamwaki.
In a Gazette Notice dated August 18, the Health Cs named Paul Kaino Cheboi, Eunice Wangui Karanja, Hardlyne Lusui, and Joseph Ouma Atonga as the new members till August 2026.

At the same time, the head of state named David Ndegwa Nyokabi as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI) for a period of three years.
“The appointment of Gerald Macharia is revoked,” reads the notice.
In the same gazette notice, Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi assumes the role of chairperson of the Public Procurement Regulatory Board following the revocation of Andrew Mukite Musangi’s appointment.
On Thursday the president appointed Musangi as the Chair of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Board of Directors.
“The President seeks the approval of the Parliament on the said nomination,” reads part of a statement read by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula in his address in Parliament.
If approved, Musangi will replace lawyer Mohammed Nyaoga whose four-year term came to an end in June 2023. He will also serve for four years with the possibility of reappointment based on performance.
