Reasons  why KCSE Papers Are Picked Twice Daily From A Container

The CEO of the Kenya National Examination Council (Knec), Dr. David Njengere, has announced a new measure to prevent the early exposure of the second paper during the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, which commenced today. According to Dr. Njengere, the government is implementing a new rule, wherein examination papers will be collected twice from the storage container and transported to examination centers.

Under this rule, the first session of the KCSE exams will take place at 8:00 am. Afterward, the center managers will return the used papers to the storage container, and the second session paper will be collected at 12:30 pm, to be administered at 2:00 pm.

Dr. Njengere stressed that only the center manager is allowed to possess a mobile phone within the examination center. All other individuals must store their phones in the center manager’s office. This measure is intended to ensure the permanent solution to the problem of early release of the second session paper.

In light of adverse weather conditions, Dr. Njengere advised officials not to risk their lives when delivering exam papers and highlighted the availability of a toll-free emergency number for assistance.
