“PSG Fumes over Chelsea’s Block of Hakim Ziyech’s Transfer Deadline Day Move”
Paris Saint-Germain were expected to sign Morocco international Hakim Ziyech on loan from Chelsea, but the agreement appears to have collapsed when Chelsea bungled up the essential paperwork on deadline day.
On deadline day, Ziyech, 29, was anticipated to finalize his transfer to PSG. Chelsea were eager for the Moroccan international to depart Stamford Bridge, and he arrived in Paris on Tuesday to finalize the transaction, but news of the transfer faded as the day went on.
Then, after the deadline had gone, it was discovered that Chelsea had given the incorrect documentation, and the transfer had not been completed on time. According to reports in France, the Blues filed the erroneous documentation three times before the deadline.

PSG is now anticipated to file an appeal in order to finalize the transfer before the deadline. Chelsea, who have completed a deal for Enzo Fernandez, have yet to comment. This tale could drag on for several days.
The issue has been described as a “Class A circus” by a PSG source to The Athletic. Ziyech was set to leave Chelsea in January after appearing in just four Premier League games this season. He hasn’t scored a club goal since March of last year.
Despite this, several clubs were interested in signing Ziyech after he helped Morocco reach the World Cup semi-finals. He appeared in all seven of his country’s games in Qatar, as Morocco became the first African country to reach the last four.
AC Milan, Roma, RB Leipzig, and numerous Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, were all interested in signing Ziyech, but PSG was his preferred destination. Despite the fact that the transfer appears to be a formality, there is now a strong possibility that the player will remain at Chelsea.
Ziyech joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020 after impressing at Heerenveen, Twente, and Ajax in the Netherlands. During his stint at the latter club, the winger won the Eredivisie, KNVB Cup, and Johan Cruyff Shield under Erik ten Hag’s management.
Ziyech was also a member of Ajax’s Europa League final squad in May 2017, which lost 2-0 to Manchester United, and he helped the Dutch side reach the Champions League semi-finals two years later. They memorably lost in the final seconds to Tottenham.
During his two-and-a-half years at Chelsea, Ziyech won the Champions League, European Super Cup, and Club World Cup. He has also reached two FA Cup finals and one Carabao Cup final, but has lost heartbreakingly to Leicester and Liverpool (twice).
If Ziyech’s deal to PSG cannot be saved, he will have to assist Chelsea in saving their season. The Blues sit tenth in the Premier League league, ten points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, and have already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
Chelsea will face Borussia Dortmund in the final 16 of the Champions League.
